It should work both ways.

Let me ask a question. NIL is for the player not his team? He can take his likeness anywhere he pleases.

NIL are private contracts that could have basically any terms included.
Since these contracts are backed by serious money, I have just assumed they were written more favorably for the one paying it, rather than the kid that agrees to it. Or, they have at least been corrected after a few people got burned by the transfer portal, opt outs, etc.

NIL no, but rev share yes.

The NCAA says it cannot be tied to playing for a particular school nor can it be tied to on-field performance or playing time.
Not all of these companies are just giving tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars away with no recourse if the athletes bail. They aren't all as dumb as you think they are.

Not and have the player remain eligible.

After last night's game, I'm starting to believe that other schools pay SOME of LSU's players to keep them playing FOR LSU.

Then the entire offensive line is being paid not to play.

NIL isn’t pay for play.

It’s marketing based.
Hey, it makes perfect sense to give a player six and seven figures for being on a cardboard poster.

I get what you are saying, but it would just take a little creativity writing the contract. Transfers are easier than opt outs

The player will just pull a Stingley and Nuss and fake an injury.

People’s willful want to pretend is amazing.
Yeah Nuss got paid because he’s an excellent Math prodigy.
