I would be fine with keeping him. The D we played the last 2 games has been the style D LSU can win championships with. If he does the same thing the next 2 games then We should definitely keep him.

This is 100% correct. We should’ve beaten auburn. Literally one sack on one of those Bo Nix miracle plays we win the game and we have so much more to play for down the stretch. We certainly wouldn’t have come out so flat against Kentucky.

You could argue that we had guys in the right positions to bring him down though. We just failed to tackle him when he was in the grasp. Might not be on the scheme. You could blame the poor tackling on coaching obviously, but sometimes it just comes down to players making plays and we didn’t make them in that game.

For the people who are saying Jones is not good enough, y’all are going to be disappointed next year. LSU’s defense is playing as well as anyone in the country right now. And that is down over half the starters.

Probably not. The fact that this guy was even hired to be the DC at LSU is embarrassing. The results of the last 2 weeks have been because catching a flat and overrated Alabama team off guard and a Arkansas team who knew what was coming but was fully capable athletically of dealing with it. If LSU cannot get some kind of offense they will get blown out by a prepared Texas A&M team.

I think we could win with him if we had an offense that could score more than 30 pts. per game

He was a “yes man” to Coach O staying with the 4-3 D and keeping the packages simple given Coach O’s went gun shy after the 2020 D debacle. I truly do t think Coach O allowed him to flourish with his own multiple packages until O became “Dead Man walking”, allowing him to make changes to the D.

Will be interesting to watch the D over the next 2 games and see if we continue to improve...

I would love to see the stats on the defense for the past 2 games and how it compares across the board to other teams (not including the shite show defense prior to Alabama)

I feel like he's improved significantly and not against shite competition either.

That being said, we still need to clear house, wish him the best of luck and I hope he lands another job, which I think he will
