What’s up with all the sudden Coach O hate

Just because we have a new AD doesn’t mean we need to fire Coach O. While many may not have agreed with the way he was hired, I think we can all agree he has LSU football on an upward trajectory. But now, because we have Woodward, a bunch of people are wanting O gone. Just illogical imo.

Who wants O gone..?

There is no more than usual. Just rantards overthinking.
That said if woodward was AD in 15/16 less than zero chance O is HC.

I have as critical of the O hire from day one as anyone. Even I think that anyone who suggest Woodward will come in and can him is totally insane.

We dont all agree its an upward trajectory. The process looks optimistic, but the results show me its very much the same trajectory we have been on, 9-3, 9-3

Gone? No. A SECW title or two, would be nice. If unable to realize, gone, yes.

Coach O haters are going to suffer in 2019. It's going to be a rough year for them. 2020 will be their year, imho.

This is true. O has outperformed his lowered expectations, but LSU deserved better at that moment in time.
O controls his own fate, IMHO.

It’s not sudden hate, it’s the influx of defensiveness from ardent O supporters who are fearful of him facing objective assessment on his performance.

It kind of shocked me a bit too, and I hate letting the rant do that. People seem to think Woodward in = O out, with no justification behind that thought.
Woodward might be the biggest O fan in Baton Rouge for all we know. And he isn't exactly struggling right now. Rant gonna rant I guess.

Think he needs to go 9-3 with a blowout to Bama (base case prediction) for seat to get uncomfortably warm. 8-4 and it's pretty hot. 7-5 and probably gone.

Look for Ed O to be on a short, short leash as Scott will be looking for any reason to make a change and bring on the next best thing.

What's your prediction for 2019?

I haven't heard that from anyone w/ a half of a brain.

I've only seen a few suggest he should be gone immediately. I think most suggest that he is less secure now that the AD's job is tied to his success.
As for the upward trajectory contention, I'd say appearance seem that way based on the incoming talent but the reality is the program is about on par with his predecessors last several years until he can win 10 regular season games or more.
This season will be the one that really tells us where the program is and its trajectory, IMO.
I didn't like the hire but I am being pulled toward the pro O side. Regardless of who the coach is and my feeling about that person may be, I always want the LSU football coach to win, win big and win often. I would rather be wrong and have LSU win than be right any day.
Here's to O winning me over completely.

It's not all of a sudden. It's been here all along bubbling beneath the surface. It's the dregs. The seedy underbelly of the LSU world. Idiots that can't see past the nose on their face. If they even have a nose, most are so stupid that they've usually sawed their nose off to spite their face.

quote:Uh, not hating on O here. But that isn't exactly true... Miles was 9-3 his last season here. O's first two seasons, he was 9-3 both regular seasons. He lost a bowl to Notre Dame that should have been a win, then won a bowl against UCF that should have been a blowout, but finished close in the score.

That's not collapsing, but it isn't climbing like a rocket either.
9 win seasons were why we wanted Les out. It wasn't good enough. Some were hesitant to make a change for fear of the program collapsing, but ironically for O, he's become proof that it would survive a change and not crash. If O can maintain it, then a top coach could elevate it. Or at least, that is going to be the argument...
