solid logic... let's bat every hitter in order 1-9 of their OBP.

I never said he sucks. Im VERY thankful for Mainieri. He's a very good coach. He's just extremely old school. That is very benefcial in alot of ways, but old school guys still have there faults. He's like Jim Leyland of college baseball. At least he's not the Dusty Baker lol.

Did I put them in the exact order of there OBP? I would have Katz leading off, which would be asinine.

Look guys, we come from obviously different schools of thought. Most of you I see are from the old school which I dont agree with, but more power to you. Im sure most of you thought Miguel Cabrera deserved that MVP over Mike Trout last year as well. We have at least one thing in common, we love LSU and want to see them demolish Oklahoma this weekend.

See. Right there's your problem. Baseball is about much more than logic. I appreciate all the number-crunching but at some point as a coach, you go with "what works" for your team. Our season thus far, shows that CPM knows "what works" for this team. The logical approach may look good on paper but totally crush the "feel" and "chemistry" and as a result deminsh our victories. In the end it's all about winning and we've done that....to this point, better than any LSU team in the past. Why we wanna mess with that?

1. Ibarra
2. Bregman
3. NOT THE BEST HITTER
4. Who cares?
5. Who cares?
6. Who cares?
7. Who cares?

Really shitty and unproven logic, but logic nonetheless.

Of course alot of it is about feel. No doubt. And im pretty sure that our success this season is because of a combination of LSU recruiting (Bregman anyone) and having vastly superior talent than just about anyone we've played, not because CPM "feels" that batting Laird leadoff and Ibarra in the 5th spot is the best for our team "chemistry". I def believe in team chemistry and not messing with juju when it's going good, but I think this team is mentally tough enough to not fall apart with a lineup shuffle. Give them SOME credit. How many dif outfield combinations have we used this yr?

Unproven? Are you serious? A sabermetric lineup is optimized because inclined statisticians have taken every single play in the last 100 years of baseball and recorded them. It's a proven fact that the no.4 hitter has more opportunities with men on base than the no.3 hitter contrary to common knowledge. If anything, the old school approach to a lineup with the "no.2 hitter is supposed to handle the bat well" is unproven and embedded in baseball history. That doesnt make it right. Baseball still doesnt even have frickin replay.

OK, say whatever you want about Sabermetrics and shite, but wanting to bat Ibarra leadoff shows just how little you actually know about how the game of baseball works.

You were touting the importance of the number of times a batter comes to the plate, but now you're talking about with RISP.

If your system is so infallable, why does EVERYONE bat their best overall hitter in the 3-hole?
