A different kind of crazy but giving the team that just beat us in a super regional a victory lap has to be up there
Game 1 of the Stony Brook Super is probably the weirdest game to ever happen in the new Box.

I was there for Ga Tech in 1996 and Cal State Fullerton in 1998. A few things I remember about those games:
1996 - Ga Tech - We jumped out to a 10-0 lead and Tech got it to 10-7 going into the bottom of the 7th. And then we had that half inning which lasted about 45 minutes. Think about hitting in that inning and getting 3 AB's in one inning!
1998 - Fullerton - That was the last year of the old 6 team regional, so the "marble" game (as Skip liked to say) was usually the first game on Saturday. I was driving over from Mandeville, but my daughter had a pre-school event that morning, so I knew I would be late. I'm driving up and Fullerton takes the lead. 2-0.....3-0.....5-0.....7-0!!!! F&CK! Do I just turn around and go home? But when you lose that Saturday morning game, you have to play again Saturday night, so I continued to campus. I pull in the parking lot, solo HR LSU to make it 7-1. I start walking to the Box, solo HR LSU to make it 7-2. I'm reaching the front gate, solo HR LSU 7-3! Brandon Bowe came out of the bullpen for LSU that day and threw about 420 pitches in 95 degrees to keep Fullerton at bay while we chipped away and finally, in the bottom of the 8th, we take the lead and hold on 13-11. One of the best games I ever saw at the old Box.

When the thunderstorm blew down part of the right field fence in the 1990 Regional. We had just come out of the losers bracket and beat Southern Cal to force a winner take all championship game. The storm blew threw, gave us an extra night to get Chad Ogea back on Monday (old 6 team regionals started on Thursday) and Rich Cordani homered in the 8th inning and we beat Brett Boone who hit like 5 homers in that regional.

We still cant find a broadcast of the game or atleast the 18 run inning in its entirety still? Closest I ever got was that ESPN clip posted earlier.

One that always pops into my head was the opossum delay/rally.
Funny CSB about that. We lived 2 miles from Campus back then. We left the game all pissed off. Got home and put the game on to 'see how bad we ended up losing' and went WTF. In disbelief we hopped in the car and hauled arse back to the Box and got back to our seats in left field before the end of the game.

I think it was late 80’s at Alex Box. It rained so much, they actually put two helicopters on the outfield to evaporate the water.

Well back in the mid to late 80’s when I was a student we were playing Mississippi State when they were bad arse and I went to take a piss during 7th inning stretch time. Well I’m relieving myself and I had to sneeze. Well you guessed it, the bowels opened up and released the hounds. I was in full panic mode but had to keep a cool face on as I searched for toilet paper and you guessed it, NONE, NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO. Ok well it was bad enough there were no stall doors that shut right on any of the fukin stalls, no paper, and there was a lake on the floor (water, soft drinks, piss) it was deplorable. So I hatch this plan to pull my jeans down to my knees and spread em tightly so as to not let them hit the ground and get soaked WHILE I proceeded to rip my boxers off of me and use them to wipe then pull pants up and get back to the game commando style. Well I pulled it off without a hitch and I can remember strolling back to my seat proud with a sense of accomplishment. I was like well you MacGyvered the shite out of that situation. So games tied get back to seats ready to settle in for some baseball. Well we all sat in a section as students and two of my friends behind me were like DUDE DID YOU SIT IN CHILI OR WHAT? Yep when I blew the gasket it splattered through the boxers and the jeans soaked it up. Had a spot on my arse the size of Rhode Island back there. That’s when I wave the white flag and took it to the house. Well there’s my Box story and it was pretty crazy baw.

This isn't necessarily crazy but when a ball gets trapped under one of those pads in RF and the opponents just hold up the ball like an idiot like that made the ball unplayable.

I think 2019 we were down 4 runs to OM with 2-outs in the B9 and nobody on base. We came back to send it to extras.
Then promptly gave up 3 runs in the T10 and lost.
One of the most amazing comebacks ever but to no avail.

Back to back to back homers in the 1st inning of 3rd game of the 2008 Super.
Wound up winning 21-7. Super wild game.

I was at that 1996 regional against Georgia Tech. That was my most memorable moment at the old Box.
Another great moment was when the stadium was chanting “Let’s go Seahawks “ during the Tulane - NC Wilmington regional game. Rick Jones is still pissed about that.

Regional, LSU vs Ga Tech. Crazy.
17 run 7th.
Warren Morris made the first out to lead off the inning. 18 batters later, he popped up for the 2nd out.
Ga Tech’s coach made 5 pitching changes in the inning. Each time a new reliever came in, he told them the same thing: “Ok, there’s one out.”

Another one: Ryan Schimpf and Blake Dean going back to back HRs - twice in the same inning - against Tulane.

You beat me to it! It’s crazy for one player to hit 2 homers in the same inning but back to back twice has to be one of the craziest things to ever happen. And probably never happen again.

My personal one, our State quarterfinal baseball game supposed to be played in the Box was moved to some other field after a foot of rain.
Sucked, we all wanted to play there so badly.
