And why didn’t LSUact quickly.
The fact that it hasn’t happened already tells me O has agreed to go with a negotiated buy out. It will never come out. At least not in an official capacity.

Probably after a bad loss or if the record is not a certain number after the season. It’s a dirty business behind closed doors.

I agree that it is possible that Ed has already been confronted by Woodward with many of the "for cause" incidents, as well as last year's horrid performance, and has been forced to acknowledge them. If so, Ed and his Animal House already may be on some form of "double secret probation", with an agreement that if he does not have "X" wins, he leaves with an agreed, limited buyout.
That would be a smart approach by Woodward and he is no dummy, according to most.

Or there is no cause.

We will know if there is cause soon. If his buy out is negotiated down, there was cause. But we will never know the specifics of it. At least not on an official capacity.

As someone posted already though, there is technically already “cause”. But I think what you’re talking about is some of the personal rumors floating around. Not sure what of that could be used or even confirmed. Or what of that could get him in trouble. We don’t really know and my hope is that we never do. Negotiate the thing and move on.

It’s just a matter if LSU goes that route in negotiations. I have no idea. This is just my opinion. But either way they’re definitely moving on.

I see what you did there. But Edwards ended up losing that election to Buddy Roemer.

He'll get something to make him happy and he'll have to shut up if he ever wants to coach again. If he leaks anything he'll probably be sued through his teeth.

And he knows enough to completely bury LSU if they choose to do that. Coach O had the upper hand with the buyout, not LSU

That would implicate himself and lose 100% of buyout.

It’ll be a $5mm - $8mm buyout

LSU will come at him with cause, then negotiate a much lower buyout. Both sides will win. LSU gets out of a huge buyout and O gets away with what’s left of his reputation.
