To think in 03 we had Hill, Paterson, Zeringue and Clay Harris swingin the sticks.
In hindsight that was murderers row.

1998 for sure, but in 1992, I was certain we would at least get to the CWS. Losing in the regional was a shocker.

1992.
Todd Walker was a freshman. Lloyd Peever in his only season here was 14-0 and National POTY.
That team was expected to cruise thru the Regional at the old Box. Instead, the bats went cold and they got eliminated with losses to Ohio State and CSF (the eventual NC that year).
That LSU team finished 50-14.

1998 tops the list but I gotta mention 2001. Really wanted to see Skip go out in style.

1998. That team was loaded. Didn't we hit like 8 hrs in the first game against Seth Etherton. Home plate became a launching pad.

98 and 03. Huge disappointments.

2003 was a disappointment i agree, coming back beating Baylor in the SR then blowing the lead against South Carolina I wanted smoke gone that night

Agree about wanting to see skip go out on top, but that team wasn't that great. It was essentially a team of Juco mercenaries and freshman mestepey. Iirc most of those guys were shown the door following the season.

quote:Yep, in the first frickin' game. I think I read recently that in the 2011 CWS in the new TD Ameritrade Park the entire series saw 8 HRs total.

2012, I thought that we would kill SB.

1998. Flew up after the first 2 wins. Left New Orleans late in the afternoon and it was 100F. Got off the plane in Omaha late at night and the thermometer in the rental car said 31F. Pretty much went all downhill after that.
