The truth is championship or bust. That’s any coach who takes the LSU job

For me, LSU must be in the playoffs and finish 1-2-3 in the SEC every year.
You are a fricking idiot. Bama and Texas have been out of the playoffs a year ago and this year, respectively. The SEC is an absolute meat-grinder, even more so with the new schedule, so there are going to be years where any coach, even ole Kirby Smart, doesn’t make it.
A more realistic goal is to finish top half every year, contend for the SEC and playoffs every other year, and win it all at least once in his career here.
A bust would be him never making the playoff at LSU, but I don’t see that happening.

I already believe myself to be the first to say this (because I already said it the day he was hired), but I’ll say it here again to tighten my stranglehold on the achievement.
FIRE CLK!!!!
But wait at least until the offense disappoints in spring practice. He should at bare minimum get that grace.

I spoke to a fairly large donor recently and he said "in or close to" playoffs every year after year 2 is the benchmark most of the boosters have asked for.
Next season they want to see marked improvement with a clear path to long term success in Kiff's trajectory. The following they want to be contending for playoffs, but it won't be a big deal if Lane misses in year two.

As if Texass, Bammer, UGA, OU, Gaytors, Aub, UThug, etc. are just going to quit trying to also make the playoffs.
Top half of SEC will be extremely competitive & can’t expect to be top 3 every season.

This is sad to say but it will be nice just to see an offensive gameplan.
He is a bust if the majorly misfires on QBs multiple times or if he leaves within 2 years.

The moment it was even considered...before it was officially announced. He will not accomplish jack squat because players will never trust the leadership of someone that will walk away from them in the heat of battle. The leaders own behavior is the model of values and quality the team will exhibit. Kiffin will leave us worse than he found us in just a few years after accomplishing nothing.
