It would be a couple of bad seasons in a row. Most of y'all are delusional on this board….

You absolutely have to factor in a coaches buyout in this climate with paying players and revenue sharing. When you’re running out a 20 mill roster, you can’t afford to pay even 20-30 mill for a coach to sit at home. Then, at LSU, you will pay at least 100 mill for the next coach.

Actually, a loss to Clemson in the first game. Sad, but true.

If he makes the playoffs, an opening season loss at potential top 5 Clemson will be a moot point.

This is not a thing anymore; it wasn't last year. There is no East and West in the SEC anymore. It may be a battle for first or second but not for the West

On 8/30/25 at about 10 pm, the hotseat talk will ramp up significantly.

I see you're still hurt that he left you at Notre Dame... what an idiotic statement... one of the worst posts ever.

If he has a poor year (8-4, 7-5) he’s on the hot seat. Anything worse, he’s fired imo.

We’ve got a difficult schedule (@Clemson, Florida, @ Ole Miss, South Carolina, A&M, @ Alabama, @ Oklahoma), but I have a feeling that this team will be very, very good this year. I’m not too sure why because I don’t have a ton of faith in Kelly

Back to back seasons of 8 wins or less.

Maybe one season below .500.

He has also won 29 games in 3 years, 3 bowl wins, and a heisman. That’s nothing to scoff at.

It is when he was brought in to elevate LSU above perennial 8-9 wins a year, paid $100 million, and given a blank check to get his staffing right.

Les Miles was run out of town because he started to lose to the non-elite teams in the conference, coupled with an inability to beat Alabama.

Not sure why Kelly gets any benefit of the doubt after losing to terrible teams like USC, Florida, and Texas A&M last year.

I’d say he’s already on a warm seat. Another opening season loss (especially if there are multiple mistakes), would put him on a hot seat. IMO, he have to recover and make the playoffs.

He will not be on the hot seat for losing to Clemson.

They are the most talented team we will play all year and Clemson will be the betting favorite.

He’s been on the hot seat since he killed a kid @ Notre dame. The only worse hire LSU has made this century was Joe Alleva. Entitled pricks that shite the bed in big games don’t fit our culture here. Unfortunately, we are stuck with him for at least 4 more years. Can’t wait to lose to Clemson.

Two universal truths we probably need to revisit this time of year:

Will Wade is never coming back;

Brian Kelley isnt going anywhere.
