I think it all depends on UF v Auburn the week before.. If UF wins, I don't see CBS giving up that matchup

Then cbs chooses their darlings of Alabama and jimbo Fisher
If they have a "darling," it's because that darling puts more eyeballs on the screen.
Surely you know how this all works, right?

As I recall, the way the contract works is that they normally have to decide which game to take 12 days ahead of time. I believe, however, that once per year they can exercise a "short window" option and defer their selection until 5 days ahead of time. In order for our game with Florida to be at night, I think CBS would have to choose to exercise that option and then ALSO the Gators would have to lose to Auburn.

I’m starting to get used to 11am

quote:no way that's true. CBS picks their 3:30 game each week (probably Sunday) - no way they have to pick it almost 2 weeks out. They'd end up with some bad matchups if that were the case.

Tv schedules are set the 13 days before each game with the exception of I believe 2 6 day options if they want to see how some games play out a little closer to the game in question. So yes they do regularly pick time slots for games multiple weeks out.

This is correct except it 12 & 5 days out.

“Tradition” that no one cares about outside of Bama and Tennessee.
Must end permanent opponents. Must.
Add another SEC so we can rotate through them faster too.

Texas A&M will be a night game. Same day as Bama/Auburn which will be 2:30pm.
What's to stop Gump HQ from sticking us with another 11:00 AM kickoff?

I think it'll depend on what Florida does against Auburn. I'm sure CBS is itching to go see Bama-A&M even though the Ags haven't looked great. If UF loses to Auburn (which is what I see happening), I think we get an espn night game.

It's still up in the air. 2:30 seems likely, but what if both Florida and (heaven forbid) LSU lose on October 5th? What happens then?
