Being in the stadium it was deafening, and the sound went immediately from a fleet of jet engines to a propeller plane as Jefferson caught the ball, stiff armed, and bolted down the sideline. I thought that if we don’t get this, our gassed defense could not stop them. play of the season - century.

Yep and after the game I was happy to get out of there without incident. There were some very angry and upset fans. Loved seeing and hearing a big group of LSU fans celebrating and singing . Good Times

My buddy looked at me and said WTF we’re about to lose man...I never took my eyes off the tv just said keep Joe upright and slip 1 tackle. Followed that up with a lucky “lunchbox! lunchbox! lunchbox!” chant. When JJ threw that stiff arm I lost my shite, I think someone got tackled in my living room after that.

After rewinding that play about a dozen times I drank until I passed out...GDT’s!!!

Bro they kicked a field goal. Wouldn't call that getting a stop!

That was the play of the season. LSU loses to Texas if they don’t at least get a 1st down there. LSU’s defense wasn’t stopping a nose bleed in the 2nd half and LSU was only up 6.

There is no doubt that if we punt there the momentum fully favors Texas to win that game. I know we were up 6 but still.

Maybe LSU loses and maybe they don't. Anyone who says if they don't pick up that and they punt LSU loses is just talking squat. You may think but you know nothing.

That we were going to get beat if we didn't make it with Aranda's crappy defense at the time.

Used to like that guy kinda irritates me now. Not cause he is a Texas fan in any way just seems obnoxious to me.

That was the moment we all knew this was a new era of LSU football. This was the era we asked Miles for the last 5 years of his career to adapt to but he never could or would unfortunately.
And he never would have adapted and changed, I mean look at him at Kansas, dude is just stubborn as hell. LSU had to fire him and should have a long time ago, but his teams were always in contention because of that great talent. Despite the terrible offenses that he ran, the wealth of talent kept them or him in the running every year even though you just knew he was gonna blow a few games (that if he had run a more wide open type of offense) that could have been wins instead of losses.

I was air guitaring my crutches in the stadium after the play and whipping donuts in my sweet mobility scooter post game as I cruised past the homeless and depressed UT fans!

Great day!

Let me set the environment up:
I recall tailgating in Austin on campus and asking my sister Gail (who lives in Austin, TX) if she wanted to try and get tickets. She said nah let's go to our house and watch the game. It was brutally hot and we had been tailgating since mid-morning. Little did I know 3 of the biggest Longhorn supporters in the history of the program would be crashing our LSU party. They were jumping up and celebrating every time Texas scored and were bitching at the refs every time LSU scored. Of course, we held our own w celebrating. Not trash talking but just pure joy and love for our Tigers. That's the way we roll....
3rd and 17 pre-snap:
I was nervous as hell.... Like most Tiger fans I felt we needed to score or possibly lose the game. You can sense momentum in football and this was the moment. Our Longhorn friends were starting to get in a frenzy - especially after the sack on previous play. Based on years past I half-way expected a run up the middle. I was hoping for a "miracle." Little did I know how special this offense was to be. WOW! The rest is HISTORY!

My gf was passed out on the couch next to me. I’d been silent for a while I was so nervous. As soon as Jefferson caught it was the biggest jump and yell I think I’ve ever done watching a game from home. Gf shot up thinking something was the matter lol....

She thinks I’m nuts
