Doesn't wind go sweeping down the plains there?

And the waving wheat can sure smell sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain.

Last time I went through that way was on a trip back from the CWS late 2000s. My brother and I stopped at this really cool zoo for exotic animals southeast of OKC. The operator was a bit strange but a lot of cool tigers and such.

Easy to wade and got some nice fish and nice scenery

Man I really wonder if we have met or crossed paths. First junction and the south llano, and now the blue?

Its a gorgeous place. Favorite place in Oklahoma. Lots of good size spots and smallies. I have spent many many hours dragging my kayak up and down the falls near the Hwy 7 bridge. Caught spots up to 2.5lbs, and a giant 4.25lb smallie.

I imagine the trout are stocked by now too.

Back to the OP - OKC has a lot to offer. For a few food recs:

La Brasa is a great South American restaraunt for dinner. The ceviche trio is a winner.

Republic Gastropub has good upscale bar food and a huge draft beer selection.

Cafe Kacao is just up Classen from La Brasa and is an absolute must stop for breakfast/brunch.

Oklahoma City has a ton to offer. It’s just a short drive from Norman.

You can possibly see the reigning NBA champions in action.

Midtown
Classen Curve
Plaza District
Asian District
Deep Deuce
Bricktown
Automobile Alley

Plenty of casinos around Norman

A lot of excellent cuisine

There’s much to do. Obviously it’s not NOLA but there’s options.

Some of the nicest people ever are from Oklahoma. Unspoiled. Had a girlfriend in college from Muskogee. Beautiful woman. Good times.

Bricktown Riverwalk then Thunder game Friday night. Plenty of restaurants and bars in that area and probably best atmosphere in NBA.
