Now that he has developed the reputation, an effort will be made to tackle the ball when he carries it.
It will take time and carries to get rid of that rep, something this team doesn't have to give at this point, IMO
It would appear to me that carrying the ball got as much attention as all the other things that he didn't pay attention to that kept him off the field.
Nothing personal, just an observation

You would think if he was a freshman there was a solution. But, damn, he should be over this issue at this point in his career...

For his career, he fumbles once every 28 carries. Prior to this season, he fumbled once every 57 carries.
He's obviously running very hard and almost always loses the ball on his way to the ground after breaking at least one tackle. I'm curious if it's a momentary loss of focus or if it's the weather conditions playing a heavy role. His last 3 fumbles were in either freezing cold or very wet and cold.

Yeah, I don’t get it. He needs to treat the ball like he is carrying his newborn. He wouldn’t drop his baby!

Give Davis more touches

What unimportant games do we have left this year?
I think all four of our remaining games are big.

Ride that man to ship. No doubt in my mind he won’t fumble again

Did Emery have a baby recently or did you get him confused with Boutte?

Run him outside of the tackles. Quick pitches and sweeps. Throw to him on wheel routes and out of the backfield. He always fumbles inside the tackles where 2 or 3 players are trying to strip the ball. Cain is for the inside of tackles. He has to play, JW is banged up, AG is out and Davis cannot play.

Power I toss-dive up the A gap.

He obviously can't focus,
He can focus on that goose step when he scores though.
Pretty simple really, teams know he's prone to coughing it up. They're tackling the ball and not him.
Call TIKI BARBER.

They should make him carry the ball all week on campus like the movie "The Program"
our hs qb once fumbled the ball three times in a game with no defender within five yards of him, coach taped a football around the stripes and through a toilet paper roll as a handle and made him carry it around at school all week

Broncos just cut Melvin Gordon for his fifth fumble of the season.

So the guy who scored huge touchdowns against Auburn and Alabama, and also worked his way back from academic issues and stuck with the program..... You want to "revoke" his scholarship?
This is cute.
Had he fumbled in the Bama game and we lost as a result, you all would be singing a different tune.

Emery is solid.
He's not though. If he was solid we wouldn't be having this discussion. I'm rooting for him but the reality is he's dropping the ball while others arent.

Feed him the rock!
No one more focused on holding on to it than him right now.
So, let him do his thing and fix it.
Emery is solid.
Exactly. Everybody needs to calm down, he is an elite back and we will need him going forward.

Love Emery's size and speed and physicality. You can tell by looking at him he has the physical skills and potential to be a great back.
But if he can't stop getting whipped around at the point of impact and putting the ball on the carpet he is going to have trouble finding meaningful playing time.
