What time will LSU-Vandy REALLY start?

It's 1:15 and still 5 outs to go in Game 1. Assuming at least a 45-minute break, Game 2 will start around 2:15 (45 minutes late).
Why does the SEC list unrealistic start times for baseball/basketball tourneys? My guess is that LSU first pitch will be much closer to 6:00 than 5:00.

This occurs every year. It's always expected to start late. Not a big deal.

it's really not that unrealistic, you figure about 3 hours for each game, and there is an hour cushion built in to most of the games, problem is when one of these games happen, it screws it up, but I wouldn't complain, gives me time to get home from work

It gives those of us who can't get ALU at work time to do so.

only a 30 minute cushion built in.

You never know how fast a game will go. I'll say 5:20pm

my bad, you are correct, but even still, they have to set the times like that, otherwise, what happens when a game finishes 2.5 time, then you are gonna wait to start the next game 1.5 hours later? I think it's good to have them as is in case some games finish early, then you can stay on schedule.

I'm hoping it doesn't start until 7:00, because that's what time I get home.

I know what you mean. But I think they do it just in case they get lucky. If they get at least 1 quick, defensive game that finishes in 2 and a half hours, which I have seen happen before, then they already have the next game starting at the right time, which would maybe keep Game 4 from starting so late.

Unless your game is scheduled for 8:30 CT.. 9:30 SC time and will probably pushed back to 10:30 or later. And if we lose we'd have to play a 1:30 the next day.. I believe giving the loser of the UA-SC game the shortest amount of time to rest.

You should have won more regular season games.

Im sure we looked at the SEC tournament schedule a few weeks ago and saw that might be the case so it must have been the motivation for us finishing the season so strong.
Hell it's the #4 seed vs the #5 seed! Technically that means it's the most evenly matched game.. that should be primetime excitement!

Just to clarify, 3:15 eastern, 2:15 central.

I remember in 2003 we were in the bottom bracket and our first two games started at about 10:15 at night.

I agree...I kind of hope it's a little late. That way I'm not quite as rushed.

Corrected to 2:15. My bad - listening to radio and they said 3:15. Assuming a 3-hour game and 30-minute cushion, LSU starts at 5:45.
I think they're giving a 45-minute cushion, based on Ark-FL game ending at 1:30 and first pitch of next game at 2:15.

Slow down goose. It is a 45 minute cushion. Assuming Game 2 also lasts 3 and a half hours, our game would start at 6:30.

I expect UGA and Ole Miss to be a pitcher's duel. That should help.
