Once everything gets taken out it's real money but not something you would regret passing up for the rest of your life. If he goes its because he is ready to be a pro.

Draft resumes. Round 21 underway.

Probably not a whole lot. I think he ends up coming back for his senior year.
The thing is, he can't really improve his draft stock much by coming back. He had a great year this year. He's not going to all of a sudden hit for power or develop plus plus speed in the outfield.
So, he doesn't stand to make more money by coming back. The question is whether he wants to give pro ball a shot now or enjoy one more year of college.

Hopefully just 1 of Duplantis/Cabell signs. It would suck to lose both of them, b/c that would leave us with just 4 outfielders on the roster. Watson, Cabrera, DiGiacomo, & Andrew Lee (assuming Webre is gone).

It would suck for sure, but I think Slaughter would be a candidate to move to the OF in that situation should he stay.

At this point, I would say its more if he likes the Clevand org and if he wants to play at LSU one more year. The after tax difference of maybe 25-50 grand between this year and next is likely a non-factor.

If Slaughter stays, he could be looked at out there.

True. I didn't think about that.

It's a NE LA thing. Several schools have gotten bashed for it, namely West Monroe, but it's the parents doing it.
With the change in rules, the hold back has to happen by 5th grade, their is no way the high school is really involved. Many of the kids move from district to district so the kid will end up at the high school they want them to play for.

Milwakee takes another top ranked high school arm in round 21. They seem to be take flyers on a couple of high school kids Cabell included.

In another thread I have this ongoing list, am I missing anyone or anything?

Nope. Your list is accurate. 49 total players.

At this point...is everyone assuming that Jaden Hill & C.J. Willis end up here?
I think Hess & Watson are definitely coming back. Those are really the 4 main undrafted threats to sign.

Feeling really good about the signees left. Not so good about Cabell. Watson and Hess are back.

Any new info on Cabell or just a feeling?

Normal rumors/numbers flying around. Confidence will go all over the place until he signs or July 16th. I think he goes down to the day unless the numbers are crazy far apart. But it will be a long time before Milwaukee even knows what they have to work with.

I have to think if his number was less than a million it wouldn’t be out of line with his talent/projection and someone would have just taken him near that slot.
If it’s more than that it’s obviously going to be interesting to follow Turang’s negotiations.

My biggest fear with Cabell is that he opts JUCO in early July. I would love for anyone to interview him or get a coaches take because everything surrounding him has been really quiet this spring.
The Brewers have three high school players taken in the top 73 picks, these guys will have the most leverage.
They also drafted Aaron Ashby in round 4 who has a full scholarship to Tennessee so they won't be able to low ball him and may even need to overpay a bit.
They drafted three college seniors but that 6, 7, and 10th round slot is only 586k combined. Assuming the three sign for 30% which is being very conservative that leaves them 410k left to sign the other 7 top 10 round picks assuming every person signs on slot.
I'm guessing Cabell has a high number as well.
