Which seems insane to me. It almost feels like cutting off the nose to spite the face. Would fans react that violently if we were to sneak a FB into a couple of plays?

Amen -- NO FB, and a soft Canada gadget scheme. Ensminger had the formula last year. Pro style offense, black the crap out of the people in front of you, and get the ball to play makers. I hate the Canada offense.

He's not healthy. I think he's been hurt since camp and doesn't have that extra gear he had last year.

Melvin hit the nail on the head. Guice is floating behind the LOS looking for a hole with no traffic. Whether it's the scheme or the Oline, none exist.

Williams on the other hand is hitting the hole that has traffic 5 yards up the field and just taking what's there. When you hit the 5 yard holes, sometimes they turn into bigger gains.

I don't like absolutes on offense. You don't say there is no Fullback. You can still use a fullback 15% of the time. They have their uses.

Guice bulked up and lost a step.

T bob Hebert said the line shifts are putting our linemen out of their comfort zones. Technique and footwork issues arise, which can only be resolved over time.

Freshmen are getting beat due to inexperience, period.

Canada will likely continue to motion backs and receivers, but reduce or discontinue line shifts.

Also, we'll likely see increasing shotgun and pistol sets, with more zone plays and quick passes.

Guice had 8 carries for 14 yards against Syracuse for a 1.8 ypc average. Williams averaged 5.8 ypc and every back that got a carry did better than that.

I think he may be more hurt than we know because Williams was running behind the same line. And let's face it, even if there isn't a sizeable hole against Syracuse, he should be able to get more than 1.8 ypc. That's the kind of average one might expect against Bama, but that's it.

I dunno...however, Canada dropped 76 on Syracuse last year with Pitt!.....

It's about time people assume it's the players not the coaches....

I understand he's kinda dinged up and all....and I'm a huge Guice fan....but it just doesn't look like he runs as angry as he did last year. Told that to a buddy a couple weeks ago. I'm really hoping it's because of the injury and we get last year's Guice back....and not him preserving himself for the draft.

Maybe Guice has been taking lessons from Justin Vincent? Has he been chasing tail at Bogies?
