Didn't Ensminger take over as OC midway through the year and was therefore incapable of even installing his own offense?

I'll hang up and listen.

and what offense is that? the pro style offense that bama has yet to be beaten by? Ensminger sure as shite is going to spread it out. He has no history of that in his crappy resume

You've seen E's offense?

When?

Could argue all day sbout how good or bad a oc he is just like any other oc. But the real .problem is it's just a bad P.R. move. Many LSU fans were waiting for a. Big name O.C. and it didn't happen that way. Very disappointing for them

Does he make QBs better? That is all that matters. We know he can call in some plays. He can be average at that. If the QB makes plays, we might not want to stab out our own eyes every game next year like it's been with Jennings/Harris/Etling of late.

Considering he was one of very few coaches on staff during the Jennings/Harris/Etling eras with QB coaching experience, we know he either sucks at developing them, or was not given the chance. I'm going to assume it's both.

To address the OP.
If our one concern (on top of the QB issue addressed previously) is our "archaic" offense, we probably shouldn't count on an OC who hasn't been studying/utilizing offenses since 1990 to "revolutionize" ours.

No, no he isn't. He hasn't held this position in 20 fricking years.

But the real .promblem is it's just a bad P.R. move.

No, no that isn't the real problem. The problem is that no OC worth his salt wants to work for the dipshit running the show. O for whatever reason has an inflated, fragile ego that precludes him from working with a strong, experienced OC. So we're stuck with a guy who hasn't been an OC in 20 years and doesn't even want the goddamn job.

No...it's not that we were promised a big name hire, it's that Orgeron promised that he'd always go out and get the very best.

When we are promoting our TE's coach, who no one has wanted as their OC for the past 2 decades, no one can say with a straight face that Orgeron is living up to his promise.

People tend to get pissy when promises get broken...

Oh. So you've seen him as a play caller.

Gotcha.

That ain't offensive coordinating.

I'm fascinated at how many supposed football fans think it is.

And if it's true that he couldn't hire one guy because he wouldn't let THAT guy bring his own people, O is a fricking moron of spectacular proportions.

What so bad anout Ensminger

1. He really doesn’t want the job. He took himself out of the running in 2016 and turned it down once in 2017. If that is not enough:

2. He hasn’t been hired for an OC job in 20 years. Think there might be a reason for that?

3. We were promised the best assistants in America. If he is the best there is why wasn’t he hired last year?

I've spent the entire last year saying I didn't support the hiring of O but that I would judge him 100% based upon his performance.

And, at the end of the regular season, I put up a post spelling out that while not perfect, the season had positive things that could be pointed to as potential.

And almost as if to prove that I'd lost my mind, Coach O immediately started handling the PROGRAM like a drunk man in a china shop.

Which is exactly what I was worried about in the first place.

And you got all this from the Canada situation? You turned a coach not getting along with one of his coordinators into an ego complex against everyone he hires.

His good games don't count but his bad games matter. Look it's as simple as this, if it doesn't work out, O will take the heat, and he will have to live with it. He will to be able to change this again. This is it, if he's successful, good, if not then everyone gets their wish.

I don't get all the bitching. If everyone believes that this is a disaster then O won't be here much longer. LSU needs to be looking at this moment for the right HC just in case this doesn't work out. Someone needs to be doing their homework NOW.

Just STOP with the crying! It will go one way or the other. If O can't beat Bama while elevating the program, then he's out, he knows it, Alleva knows it, the fans know it, everyone knows this. He can't hold LSU hostage and he's recruiting well, so chill the frick out and let's see what happens.

If he were not getting great players in here then I would be saying, get him out now but he's doing that. He's changing the type of player we've had here and they look much better IMO. Let's see what happens.

What is there to not get? We're wasting ANOTHER year on "hope and pray"/"jsut wait and see!". Just keep pulling the wool over your eyes, I guess.

And wtf can you or anyone else do about it?? Complaining, crying, bitching, and moaning won't do a damn thing.

O is here and isn't going anywhere until he's proven that he can't get the job done. I don't see the point of all this.
