What so bad about Ensminger

His offense was better than Canada’s hands down. He out gain Florida but had some turnovers in critical moments in the game. Played Bama tough. Blew out everyone else.
Why is he this terrible hire. He was a QB, apparently a great recruiter. I’m not disagreeing with anyone. I just would like a logical explanation as to why I should get on board with him being a terrible hire and program killer.

Does he make QBs better? That is all that matters. We know he can call in some plays. He can be average at that. If the QB makes plays, we might not want to stab out our own eyes every game next year like it's been with Jennings/Harris/Etling of late.

And the fact that Canada had to implement HIS OWN offense, a brand new one, top to bottom, without the benefit of having 2 generational talents at RB, with a banged-up young OL, a meddling head coach, etc. Ensminger took Cam/Les' playbook and beat up on some dog shite defenses and disappeared against Bama. Put up some nice yards but only 10 points against UF. I can't fathom how anyone could say Ensminger is an upgrade at all from Canada, let along "clearly" an upgrade.

I don't think he's even that bad of a playcaller or position coach (and he can apparently recruit fairly well) but it signals no vision or innovation in trying to fix the one area that has plagued LSU every year sans 2013: offense. We need to at least attempt to modernize our offense and do more in the passing game.

Didn't Ensminger take over as OC midway through the year and was therefore incapable of even installing his own offense?

I'll agree it was better than Canada's, but so were all but one of Miles.
2017 is prolly the 2nd worst scoring offense this century.
