3rd game, championship game? What say you baws…

I’d pitch Paul tomorrow with a pitch count. No more than 90 pitches.

I don’t know which game, but it’s the one that sets him up to pitch game 2 of the regionals. I don’t know the schedules, so I can’t tell you, but count five days rest (6 if possible) and there’s your answer. Then only let him pitch 80 to 90 pitches.

Friday. Keep him on schedule.
I know we want to win but we are already a national seed and this tournament is pointless

This is the correct answer

Last week’s series against UGA was on Thursday, tomorrow would be 1 week rest. Also possible if you wait to pitch him Friday he doesn’t pitch at all in the SEC tournament. I don’t think we go 0-2 though.

He will pitch game 2, then Floyd up next. We had a Thursday series last week and will start Thursday or Friday next week so he’s fine either way starting game 2 of the sec tournament.

We are only playing for seeding at this point and even that we are likely only talking 1-2 spots either direction within the top 5 so I don’t think it matters but it depends on how much Jay values those spots
Personally I’d be fine with using these games as opportunities to continue stretching out Coleman, get Collins some work, get Herring some work, let Acmehouser work through his recent struggles, and see what Money can do for you in a bigger park against good teams.

Arent regionals friday-monday?

You may be right. I just remember both sides of the bracket end up on different days so that may start during supers and not regionals.

If we lose today, pitch him tomorrow with a hard limit of 90 pitches
If we win today, then pitch him Friday with a hard limit of 90 pitches

Win today, he pitches Friday
Lose today, pitches tomorrow
Lose today, pitches tomorrow

Regardless of todays results, throw him tomorrow on an 80 pitch count

Friday. And I’d have no problem with a 90 pitch count.

If they would have thrown him today he could have come back and thrown in the championship game Sunday

I think you pitch him tomorrow regardless of today's outcome.
You don't leave Hoover without pitching your ace. Even if we put him on a very restricted pitch count. He gets the ball.
If we win today, pitching him tomorrow gives us a great chance to win and get to that winner's bracket semifinal.
If we lose today, pitching him tomorrow gives us a chance to avoid elimination, which - one more win probably locks up a Top 8 seed (if we haven't already done so).

Regionals don’t start until Friday and Skenes won’t pitch until next Saturday.
I start him tomorrow on his normal week rest then he gets two extra days going into regionals.
Then pitch Floyd Friday. He will either pitch on a normal week’s rest if they need him to pitch game one of the regional or will have a couple extra days if they can hold him until Sunday.

And Jay Johnson should be fired the moment he fills out the lineup card. There is zero reason to pitch him twice this week.
