It will depend on his combine
Does he get invited?
Does he work out? no way he runs. No way.
Pop may have him sit it out and as mentioned ride the QB position being overvalued and hope for the best.

There is no chance higher than 6 or 7, but lucky to get an udfa contract
What is he gonna show at combines that overshadows his play? Speed? ARM, agility?

Probably, but I should have said workouts, because he may not, and he may elect to skip it if he thinks he needs a little more time to "get right".

Yep.

When Ryan Leaf announced he was entering the draft the QB who was uninvited to the combine was Matt Hasselbeck. Crazy considering how their careers played out.

Yep. The occasional sure things that flame out and the also-rans who sometimes become superstars remind us how imprecise the whole talent evaluation world can be. Though I think they often get things right.

Good segue to Nuss. Most QBs are known to coaches far before they’re drafted. A lot of coaches already know how he was taught and how he processes. They’ll know if he’s actually been damaged or if it’s a situational problem with him. His stock will still fall because of this year but that’s not always a direct correlation to how he’s perceived as a player. Mahomes for example was a known future superstar to some NFL coaches but he still went 10th in his draft, 8 spots behind Mitch Trubisky, because some didn’t know him. QB drafting can be a very clandestine operation in the NFL.

6-7th or UDFA ... his dad being and NFL coach may help his chances.
