What positive has Alleva brought to LSU in his tenure as AD?

1) The Athletic department is making more money than ever, but I think anyone with past AD experience in a pulse could've done that, considering the SEC Network and the boom of sports value.

2) Beth Torina, who was not first choice.

...that's all I got.

Facilities in general have been upgraded. Tiger Stadium looks a hell of a lot better.

But is that something that happened because we have Joe Alleva?

I mean, any AD would've done this to keep up in the arms race. What positive does Alleva, specifically, bring to the table that other AD's don't?

He’s proven he knows how to manage revenue growth and facilities improvements.

He’s abysmal at personnel matters. He’s yet to have a non-contentious hiring or departure of a coach in a major sport.

This. After everything that has gone down, lets say WW gets let go. You tell me what big time coach is gonna want to come coach LSU basketball with an AD like this.

Even though how he handled the process with hiring a new head football coach was questionable, frustrating, and poor in general; Ed O was a good hire... so far. That’s hard to argue considering the success he had this year which was a significant improvement compared to Miles’ downward trend. 2 seasons is a decently quick rebound, and high hopes are held leading into his 3rd season, not to mention the incoming top 5 class. The players love him and the media gravitates toward him in a positive way.

Wade was a great hire, but Allevas’ involvement was small.

Development and renovations of facilities are definitely his strength, but there is still much more he can do.

Getting Kristian Fulton back was great and appreciated.

We all know his weaknesses.
