What might have been if your dad would have worn a condom.

Both he and I wouldn’t be as disappointed.

Neither Miles nor O would have arrived to torture us in their own special ways.

You need to get laid or find a hobby. This thread is just sad.

Saban would have left for the NFL or for Texas after winning championships with Jamarcus Russell or Matt Flynn or Ryan Perrilloux. No way Perrilloux gets kicked off the team that's for sure.

But there's also no way Saban doesn't bail on LSU due to his ego and not getting what he would want from the administration.

Rp was going to UT. If Les didn't sign him, that 05 class looks much worse on paper, thanks to Saban.

He never wasrt going to try, if not that year, then the next.

What I'll never understand, is why the NFL thought he would transfer to their game. A hit headed egomaniac who had no control over the pro players like he did in college, and no recruiting.

Just doesn't add up

And who was that someone rumored to be? I've heard the name before but can't remember.

today's Saban wouldn't be the same without his trip to the NFL.

Now, had Alabama come apart in 1999 after losing to La Tech and he had chosen Alabama over LSU to start 2000 and whomever we had in 2006 floundered, who knows.

Basically the 2018 Saban wasn't the 2004 Saban.

I do agree with that. Saban is a far better coach today than he was at LSU.

It was the Belichick connection.

The Pats pulling the huge upset against the Rams in the SB in 2001 at the same time LSU made the unexpected SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl run immediately began the talk and connections that since he was previously DC under Belichick, that he was a natural fit at the next level as part of the new “coaching tree” du jour.

There had always been chatter before that but that is when it became inevitable imo.

BB winning his second in 03 as we won the NC the same year just meant he was going to write his own ticket and terms when he finally made the jump.

Then Saban gets Colt McCoy if RP goes to Texas. McCoy under Jimbo Fisher would have developed nicely to take over after Russell/Flynn.

Charlie Weiss also cashed in on Belicheck coaching tree with Notre Dame's head coaching job.

Well OP, here's what you can do about all this. You can get out of the trailer and ride your lawnmower up to the WalMart. There you can buy as much Alabama gear that will fit on it.

And just like that - for you, Saban never left.

Saban was an average to slightly above average coach.
He went to Miami where he failed, but learned to look at the game differently which is what has brought him such success.
