Outside of 1 ball where he was playing shallow and couldn’t track, he’s been fantastic. He is a better CF than Stanfield easily

I don't think Curiel will be a Center Fielder in MLB. I think both he and Jake will play RF.

Best-of-luck to both. I think Brown's stock has really risen this year, and both will be drafted early.

People forget how dominant of a pitcher Jake Brown was. Brown vs Victorian from Barbe was the best matchup in the country

Curiel is strong enough to hit for more power, but his swing & approach doesn’t allow it.

This is my thought

I'm interested to see exit velo metrics on Curiel.

He and Brown are both routinely at the top per LSU Baseball Data Twitter

Brown reminds me a bit of Jacob Melton. But Melton a better defensive player. Everyone likes Yellich as a comp for DC and its hard to argue against.

Why do we have to do these silly arse comparison all the time? They are both good MLB prospects. I see both of them being drafted in the Top 10.

Yeah, you're not going to convince me that Antoine Duplantis is stronger than Curiel.

You don't add on muscle overnight. Especially when he was just a teenager last season

but Brown’s defense has been more impressive so far this year

I don’t agree with this. Both have been extremely good. Curiel has made some magnificent plays in center.

He’s old, draft eligible sophomore, maybe it’s not going to happen.

Maybe not. That’s what potential is. But if it happens he’d be better than Brown.

It seems when everyone is struggling to get a hit, that Curiel somehow puts one in play. Now, Curiel doesn't have near the power that Brown does.

Ryno who’s your best comp for Curiel and Brown on the coach’s pitch team you’ve led to 6 championships

He isn't a better prospect. Sometimes the scouts get it wrong.

This all started in early HS when Curiel's trajectory was more clear than Brown.

He might be. Let’s see how Brown does in the SEC, particularly against LHP. If he does 75% as well as he has so far this season, then he’ll be highly coveted. I’m a little disappointed that Curiel hasn’t had even a small power surge from last season. But both guys are playing very well.

this is an oxymoron

Everything he wrote was true of Curiel last season, but this season he has struck out looking quite a few times.

He struck out looking last year too. What he didn’t do last year and still doesn’t do this year is chase balls out of the zone.

If you're fit and exercise you reach your peak physically in your 30's. If done naturally it takes years to eat and put on muscle.

I find Curiel puzzling in that respect, because his setup and loading looks weak, but his exit velos are good, yet few HRs.
