No one seems to talk about Kelvin Shepard running around blocks but Cutrera takes one bad angle on McFadden and becomes a slow LB. Cutrera gets hurt because he takes people on and doesn't run around the block like #11 (NOT Perilloux). It's hard to take good angles when your DE's are running past the play and give the RB the edge.

He will get hurt in game 3-4. Young man is good but can't stay healthy.

We're talking about Cutrera, not Beckwith.

Cutrera's struggles in that Arkansas game should not be isolated to one play. A video could have been compiled on what not to do when playing LB and everything would have been covered.

Riley is the fastest, and best, LB on the team. It's not close. He can play for anyone.

The others, totally unproven.

Even Brain Urlacher would have looked bad in that disorganized, confusing mess of a defense that was put on the field last year.

what about 2007, namely versus arky?

He was a sophomore against arky wouldnt you think he has improved since then especially since Chavis has been around for a little bit.

For those who dont know Cutrera has been fastest lb on the team for a couple of years(runs legit sub 4.5) he just looks slow because hips aren't the best

If he does start I see him having an average season at the most he is not better than Riley or Shep so I hope that they don't get bumped for him

He looked hesitant and akward, which could be best seen on replays, last year. To mention any pro MLB when discussing Cutrera is beyond belief !!

Wow what rock have you been living under. Both have taken a back seat to him under 2 different DC's.

I will bet anything you want he won't run anything under a 4.68 at the combine

Solid but unspectacular.

I don't see him as a big playmaker, I remember when he was thrust into action in Oxford in 2007 he was exposed pretty badly in space.

Hopefully he has improved and apparently from what I read elsewhere in this thread he's faster than my eyes tell me he is.

I hope he exceeds my expectations of course. Rather be wrong and him blow up and help our team.

I am definately not a "the coach never makes mistakes" kinda guy, but I definately do feel like Chavis will have the best players on the field. He has no promises to fulfill or prior loyalties to these kids. If Cutrera starts, awesome, that means he WON the spot. It doesnt mean the other guys were "bumped" for him, it means he bumped them outta the way himself.

I recently meet and talked to John Chavis for a bit and he said Cutrera had an amazing spring/summer and should be pretty good. The way he talked about the linebackers I expect all of them to be pretty solid
