What is the future for Giles?

No. 7 was largely missing last night, except for fielding punts (at least two of which were very returnable, but fair caught). With the younger, less experienced receivers rapidly developing, is Giles slipping down the depth chart to very little PT?

He's at best 4th or 5th in the pecking order right now

He's eventually gonna get buried on the depth chart with the emergence of S.Sullivan, Dee Anderson, and Racey McMath

Is there anyone that does snap counts for LSU? I would be interested to see how his snaps have diminished over the first 5 games.

Some fans haven’t given up on him

Racey is a Tight End bro. Please keep up.

So when LSU leaves the defense on the field and plays to watch for a fake by Ole Miss, thus not blocking any of the Ole Miss players running downfield to defend the punt returner, you suggest Giles try to catch the punt and run it back 1 vs 5 defenders?

I believe I saw Giles was even taken out of fielding punts on at least one occasion in the second half.

I don’t get the whole number 7 thing being awarded to him so in advance. Especially being a transfer from a pass happy big 12 conference. I know 18 is more of a meaningful tradition, but 7 should have been given to a returning starter from last year’s team.

Nothing against him but I'd like to see Chase get some reps in his spot.

Yep, I think Kirklin was back there.

O giving it to him seems odd. I figured the past 7s would make the decision.

Yes, with that much room, he should have returned the punt.
You don't forego the opportunity to return about just because the defense is playing safe on the punt, when you have an unimpeded opportunity to improve field position.

His future is to keep working hard and to help his team win in every way possible. Unless he's a quitter is there any other option for him?

The only punt that was even attempted to be returned was when giles wasn't there

Fair catch punts and then walk to the sidelines.

His half arse effort on the only pass he caught was the final nail in his coffin in my mind. Horrible effort and he looks slow as hell. Also add in fair catching the punts with 15 yard cushions. Absolutely unacceptable
