Learn how to read a map. The latest projection has the center of the storm less than 100 miles south of the Morgan City area at 8 AM MONDAY. That means much of the Louisiana coast will be feeling tropical storm force winds at that point. A Saturday evacuation is prudent and necessary if that scenario is even remotely possible.

How many of your posts need to get whacked before you get a clue?

No thats not way too early. Obviously you are not familiar with what happened three years ago. Contraflow goes into effect as early as 50 hours before landfall, which is necessary to evacuate EVERYONE if need be. It goes in tiers, and timing is everything. Get your facts before making dumb comments.

Yep. One more attempt using microwave to alter weather patterns and wipe out New Orleans with repeated hurricanes. They are stacked up, all of them originating off the coast of West Africa directed to the Gulf of Mexico. I suspect the real motive is to frick up the LSU football season. Bastards

Tropical storm force winds are expected on the Louisiana coast by early Monday morning. Saturday is NOT too early.

had to be moved. If shite turns bad and the game wasn't moved people would find a way to blame the game for problems. This was a must. A stupid irrational must, but a must none the less.
agreed, no room for maneuver on this one

Now i am going to miss most of the fricking game, I got a Wedding to go to at 11am.I hate this F*cking storm!

I know for one I'm not even thinking about coming down for this game due to the possibilities of gas lines, traffic, and now the 10:00 am kickoff. This was the right decision no matter how many fools will call it stupid. After Katrina (which was a 3 at landfall, same as Gustav forecast as another poster wanted to question) the state has no choice but to err on the side of caution. If it were the other way around and this storm was hitting on Sunday I imagine the same crowd would find something to complain about.

Katrina was a cat 3 at landfall idiots. It's just about hurricane strength and there's not much to stop Gustav from becoming a cat 3 or more. As other posters have said, tropical storm conditions will be affecting the coast by Monday morning at the current forecast. The decision to move the game up was much needed. Get drunk next game.

Don't let the current forecast stand in the way of a good argument.

i would MUCH rather them do it and not need it rather than need it and not do it. people need to stop complaining over this seriously.

I understand all their reasoning, but 10 am is pretty early. Like a previous poster said, it may be to discourage 120k + showing up. Cause 11 am would have probably worked just as well, but making it at 10 discourages additional attendance.

Just curious as to when that game will be. I mean you have Hanna and she might be around Jamaica which would cause for another evacuation or just keep the people evacuated. Then another storm might be out there and it would be irresponsible to bring people back because it might get in the Gulf too. I guess I'll see you at Auburn.
