What is it about LSU that keeps them from getting top QB prospects?

This has been going on for 10+ years now.

It's frustrating to see some programs stack them up like
a cord of firewood while the position has been a key need here at LSU.

The stigma that LSU can’t develop a QB

There is no data out there that confirms the “myth” that LSU is where QBs go to die

Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris were going to struggle wherever they went, and we saw that happen especially with Harris

Every starting QB LSU has had in the last 15 years have been highly rated coming out of high school.

Misconception

We’ve gotten highly recruited players at the position. None of them have been developed.

They were all pretty much top 20 ranked guys at their style.

Lot's of great QBs in college are lower ranked than our starters.

Lack of development was in two replies.

So is Ensminger the answer to that query?

tells you it is not a single thing. It's recruiting, evaluating, developing, utilization, style, system, square peg round hole.

Many, yes- many, programs overcome one or more of those regularly. We seem to PUT OURSELVES in an insurmountable position.

But...
The longevity of it has tainted us. Our expectations are probably too high. When an Etling has a "decent" or "solid" year, we're disappointed. Maybe we should be, but Etling was a decent and solid QB, why did we expect more. If we had Lamar Jackson we'd crucify him for his performance against us in a bowl game. Much of this perception is inward directed, then it bleeds out into the rest of the CFB world.

And yet another but...
When Mett has a record breaking year, we finish 3rd in the West. That's a helluva blemish. All we heard was "all LSU is missing is a QB" for years. We set records. Nada. Now we're back to that again.

To change all that history, well- wipe it out, we need to "pivot", not incrementally change.

A mix of bad luck (Ryan perrilloux) and just shitty quarterback coaching I guess.

Actually, we do get highly ranked quarterbacks...some don't pan out, but others do pretty damn well. Remember, we had a quarterback picked 1st overall in the NFL draft a while back. I think a lot of the impression that we are so terrible at the QB position is sparked by shite talkers on message boards just like this one.

Well, dumbass-- you asked the original question (see your thread title). Then you asked if Ensminger is the answer to that query. Apparently by "that query" you didn't mean the original query, but an altogether new query-- namely-- is Ensminger is the one to develop QBs?
