its pretty messed up only because i expect better journalism cred from them.. they have lost a lot of credibility in my opinion.
i think we should throw a BF and write a letter.

I gave up watching ESPN (except when the Tigers are playing there) some time ago, and my life has seemed brighter since. I haven't missed anything important.

I can't believe that you're not interested in Barry Bonds back acne.

Seriously, look at their stories and how much shock value they try to bring. I get that it's not possible to take out all bias, but for the love of god what would it take to just report the facts. I blame twitter.

And I believe the guy they interviewed
It's not the guy, it's the fact the guy had his chance to spill the beans almost 4 years ago when it might have done some good for college football, but he didn't.
Now, 4 years after the fact he decides to tell his story when it can't possibly be proven or disproven, but it can tarnish the rep/raise questions bout a player he recruited but didn't get.
Why didn't the reporter/ESPN/or whoever ask the guy why now and not then, why didn't you report an extortion play to your school, and what proof do you have that any of this is true?

You hit the nail on the head. Whats the alternative.

So my question is this, why, in any source of journalist integrity, would ESPN break this story of PP without any substantiation of what was being said?
It's the modern era of "journalism" they have to compete with twitter and facebook etc. Things need to go out on the airwaves quickly or they get scooped. They don't give a frick if the information is right or wrong...as long as it draws viewers/readers/ratings.

yeah, I see no direct quote of his denial of a visit taking place, just heresay

I'm trusting my boy PP on this one.
Have you ever given an interview to The Advocate or some other media outlet. They twist your words into whatever they want you to say. I'll never forget hearing my uncle give an interview to The Advocate while we were in Omaha. When I got back to Baton Rouge 3 days later and read a few of his quotes in the paper, I was shocked. Thats the beginning of me not trusting the media.
Eta: By no means am I saying The Advocate does this all over the paper.

quit being a quibbler. all I am saying is that he should probably keep his mouth shut and not bring on additional questions. clearly you think he should keep talking and have more "journalists" dig into his story.

If he is innocent, I say keep talking. What does he have to worry about then.

the problem is PP claimis he had no invlovement with Lyles and said he didnt visit A&M when in fact he claims in 2007 he had a great visit with them. lies on top of lies don't help. Ask Tressel. It is someitmes better to keep your mouth shut than add fuel to the fire.
FWIW he and his father did talk about visiting A&M but said they had no official visit. Lyles was in teh business of going to football camps and PP was at football camps
Also he and his father said they had met him but (main point of interest) Lyles played no major role whatsoever in his decision making process
This stuff could turn out to be false and then he would look like Rafael Palmeiro shaking his finger at congress... but so far his denials seems strong, specific, and good for LSU
If it turns out there was a advisory relationship then that goes down the toilet

Look, if you let this bother you, I really feel for you. I understand where you are coming from but LSU has been projected to win the championship by some sites. This stuff will be brought up many, many more times during the upcoming football season, trying to discredit LSU and their quest for another title.
I am not a big ESPN fan either but nothing we can do about it.....just let it go.

ESPN's started drifting into TMZ mode a while back.
Posted on 4/1/11 at 2:21 pm to BoobieWatcher
pardon my ignorance but is there a way to get Tiger Games only shown on CBS and CCS cut ESPN out entirely?
