Winning every home game, decisively; strongly contesting every road game and winning 2...I really want to hand Mullen and Fisher their asses, in their own back yards.

And while you're at it, I say take the PC bit out of the student section's collective mouth. Get the creative juices flowing. Devise insulting, expletive-laden chants and let fly. Put the "Tiger" back in Tiger Stadium.

10-2 with the 2 losses being to some combination of Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Texas A&M. We can't lose to an inferior Miami team on what will be more like a home field advantage for us than for them to open the season. We can't lose to Alabama for an 8th consecutive time at home. We can never lose to Arkansas, even on the road, especially against a first year coach. In all honesty, we shouldn't lose even lose road games to Florida and Texas A&M with 1st year coaches because those teams are only going to get better and we should never lose a home game even against a juggernaut like Georgia. So Auburn is the only game that is really "acceptable"...

I could live with 9-3.

Its some funny shite how nine wins in 2016, 2017, and 2018 is acceptable, but before ten wins was not.

Those goal post sure have moved.

10-2 with a west title. Same as always for LSU.

6-6? Man, if we go 6-6 I agree that O should be let go. I don't see that happening though honestly. We have a good team.

The new dumb arse phrase of the week. Objectively speaking the schedule is brutal. If we had last year's schedule I would not be happy with another 9-3 regular season.

Most of the ones saying 9-3 is acceptable have made supporting arguments I can respect, even though I’d still be disappointed.

They’ve qualified them with “if we don’t lose games we shouldn’t” or “if the team is well-coached,” etc.

I do agree that not every 9-3 season is equal. For example, 9-3 with a win against Bama and losses to Miami, Auburn, and Georgia would not be catastrophic and would at least show improvement from 2017.

But that would only be the minimum, and LSU would have to be in the SECCG by 2019.

9-3 against 2017 schedule and 9-3 against 2018 schedule are 2 different things

2017 schedule is significantly weaker than 2018 schedule

We're essentially replacing BYU and Tenn with Miami and Georgia

First off, in what world was 10 wins not enough? I have never heard anyone on this board say that 10 wins isn’t enough.

Secondly, the “acceptable” record isn’t in a vacuum. It’s not you must win X amount of games every year. The strength of schedule and the returning experience has A LOT to do with what is acceptable.

Lol 10 wins.

Honestly I think the ceiling next year is 7 wins. That’s best case scenario.

So you’re saying 8-4 is over achieving?

Well that’s obviously a lie or you wouldn’t be on this board now would you?

10-2 or failure.

We fired Miles for consistently losing three games.

People wanted Miles Fired after a 9-3 season where the only thing between them and 3 wins was a canceled McNeese game.

Miles went 10-3 10-3 8-5 9-3 And was on the hot seat

Why shouldn’t we demand more from the guy we hired to improve the team from that.

Like I said, it’s not a vacuum. Yes we were a rained out game from 10 wins BUT we not only lost but got our asses kicked by every team we played that had a pulse.

It also didn’t help that we lost to those teams 3 weeks in a row.

The process of restoring a competitive culture may require "stair steps", like re-establishing dominance at the line of scrimmage and competency in the passing game.

However, like UGa, we should see immediate progress. Compete for the West next year, then win the damn thing, the following.

Schedule, youth and depth are problems for the coaches to solve. Or not..

Stop scratching just the surface. What got him fired was his stubbornness and the results of SEC play since 2013.

Look at Miles SEC record the last 3-4 years and our finish in the SECW. Since 2014, he was 19-10 overall and 10-8 in the SEC.
