What irritates me the most about this team...

Is how they've played to the level of the competition all year long. This team has lost to the likes of ULLLLL, Tulame, and Nickels, yet pretty much win every weekend series in the toughest conference in the country...the biggest feat to overcome with this team is all mental...IMO of course...just needed to get that off my chest...and always

Exactly...and shouldn't the coaches have something to do with that? I'm not saying get rid of PM, he is a good coach. But just wish he could have these guys ready and anxious to play more. It's baseball and I know you can't be totally up for every game. But, damn, they are not up enough.

Anything can happen in one game of baseball. The best team doesn't win near as often as football or basketball. I wouldn't get too upset about it.

It's not just one game. This has been happening way to often this entire season. Games that it just looks like this team just takes off. No enthusaism and just lifeless like, "o well we ain't worried about this game". You can't do that. Not at this time of the year. It will catch up with you. There will be a game when you expect to just " turn it on" and it won't be there.

They are 41-16. That is pretty fricking great for a baseball team. They can't win every game. They struggle against good leftys; I don't necessarily think that is an effort problem

Exactly.
I always find it funny when people try to find intangible reasons for losing. We got beat because we couldn't put the bat on the ball yesterday...not because we weren't up for the game.

i cant believe this one loss to Vandy in the first round of the SEC tourny where they threw their ace and we threw Ross will keep us outta Omaha.

so, how could the team have showed you that they were "up for the game"?

Looks to me like we got "up" 41 times this season. Take a look at the other teams that have done that....it's a short list.

what exactly is "up enough"?
fwiw, Vandy, with Minor pitching, is a decent team. The played solid D and the guy pitched a gem.

1) You're 30 years old. Those "nicknames" you have for those teams are infinitely more lame than LSU losing to them. Pick yourself up.
2) Both ULL and Tulane have made the CWS in the last 10 years. The talent gap is not nearly as wide as you may think it is.
3) Do you know anything about baseball at all?

While that is irritating, we won't be complaining come the CWS when every team we play will be a solid club.
This LSU team seems to easily be able to "turn it on" when necessary, which is a good thing. Many teams aren't able to do that.

This may be the best and most reasonable post I've read on the Rant. How dare you!
