I'm not quite sure they're in a position to refuse.

It's a win-win for South Alabama. If LSU pays them to go away. They get the money which is the reason they played them in the first place, and no loss. Ask McNeese how awesome that was last year for them. They will take that deal and run

I hope that Joel Erdman has the nads to say he isn't going to let Florida get away with it.

People seem to forget that South Alabama can walk away with the big check and get a home game against Presbyterian out of it. They'll agree in a heartbeat.

If the NCAA granted a waiver for a second FCS win to count for bowl eligibility, yes it would be awful attractive to the Jags.

But as a USA alum I'd be embarrassed they helped Florida screw LSU. As an LSU alum...I'd be pissed too.

I am first a huge LSU fan and a USA alumnus (or should I say alumni because I graduated twice from USA?). To me, forcing USA to take the money makes LSU into a bully--the same as Florida already has done to the SEC and others. To USA, it might not be as much the money as the experience of playing a top-tier program--USA is building a program and needs the game played to establish history. It would be something like inviting a singer to The Voice and not even giving them a tryout because they wanted to accommodate a diva. And Florida has become the diva with a sore throat who has manipulated the SEC just as a bully has done the schoolyard. My opinion...

I'm with Mr. Faulkner; we invited Univ of South Alabama to Baton Rouge to play football, and we should honor the invitation. No need to make a Univ of Florida out of ourselves.

South alabama cannot say no. The clauses in the contract to get out of the game only necessitate one school want out.

All lsu has to do is walk up to Erdmann with a 1.5m check.

The money isn't worth what the exposure of them playing us is to a program like theirs. Ask UAB
