No one is questioning his desire to be the head coach or that he truly wants to win. Of course he does. But wanting to win does not mean he has the ability to win.

The QB position was a joke under Miles and the TOP QB's are not coming to LSU these days. You want CEO to fix this in one year. Right now we have 3 - 4 star QB's on the team.

Completely false. Every starting QB we had under Miles were highly recruited QBs out of high school.

the only thing hes done is bolster the dline. which is why he was hired by Les to begin with.

Everything else we have no clue on and most of the team is still full of guys recruited by the last regime.

Will the oline be better? New coach, some new faces, we have no way of knowing.

Wrs? basically we have no idea. none of these guys have shown much at all. The star talent is there for sure.

RB? prob the least ive been excited about this position in 15 years.

DB? Went from the premier program to now having to move wrs to the position.

Linebacker. Weve had some solid lbs come through here and have put a shite ton in the nfl, yet people act like this has been a huge position of concern for us when it really hasnt been.

We had an immediate need at QB. We filled it. Burrow is far superior to,Gunnell for LSU right now. We have a two year solution at QB with two solid back up choices. Either of,whom could be a starter in 2020. We have a top notch QB recruit for 2020. This is stuff Miles never did.

Miles did do this. He got Mettenberger and then landed Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris two 4* QBs to replace him when Mett left. The problem he couldn't develop them. O has not fixed the lack of development. Which was the problem not getting QBs

Not only that, but Miles recruited Brennan and Narcisse as well.

I think everything you just said is fair except the DB comment. we're thin, for sure, but moving WRs to DB shouldn't be viewed as a negative. I'm all for getting guys in the best position to contribute and be the best players they can be. Obviously, we don't know about how Netherly will do, but I've seen some of his workout videos and he looks like he could be really, really good as a DB. Also, don't forget, one of our all-time best corners was a WR for a couple of years.

Looked it up on 247 just for shits and giggles. 8/14 of QB's signed under Miles were top 10 QB's nationally out of high school.

Jennings was 14th and an Elite 11 finalist
Jefferson was 11th

Getting QB's has never been a problem.

one of your comments...

Like it or not O is one of the best recruiters in the country. He's showing he's willing to delegate to his coaches. His best case scenario is not Miles's 9-3 seasons. Hell if he was the coach this year we would have been 11-1.

We all hope to see that, but is there any basis for expecting it?

LSU purple blood is hoping to see better QB play

you can't say it will happen but with SE having a full year to do his thing and watching videos on Joe

I am expecting to see better QB play

I know that you can move guys around, but we usually did that right out of hs, like claiborne. He could have been a wr or db and played qb in hs.

It just seems like they really dropped the ball this cycle. we had players transfer out and you knew fulton wasnt going to play.

Pretty much the opposite is true. Greedy williams is a first round draft pick and I would say we definitely need to stay healthy.

Mettenberger had 5783 yards, 35 TDs to 15 INTS and a QBR of 148.4 while at LSU...most of that was JR and SR year

one really good year - agree

we need a entire new level of QB play and this issue is what I see as the main issue Les got fired over

It seems like they dropped the ball because they definitely did drop the ball. They got hemmed in by the numbers, and then got left at the alter by Surtain. I think even if thye had gotten Surtain or Goodrich, they still move Netherly. I truly believe that's the best position for the kid and am excited about his future. We just had too many talented WRs for him to get a good look there.

Coach 0 might have been born in Louisiana, but you better believe he's a mercenary and gives zero shits about this state and this school.

All this dream job shite was spouted off at USC and at Ole Miss.

True Louisiana boys could never put on an Ole Miss or Tennessee polo and come into a Louisiana kids house and tell them not to come to school at LSU.
