the team that played state and Troy was much improved once players returned/got healthy. That's not debatable.

Which is exactly why I think we will have 10+ wins in this regular season. Those problems no longer exist, plus we got a good QB and shored the line depth up. This team actually has a shot to win the SEC and go to the playoff this year.

10-2 or better will shut a lot of detractors up.

Perhaps the players actually on the field weren't good enough? Ever thought of that.

So if you criticize the coach, you’re an agenda driven hater.

But bash the players all you want huh?

For the record I said the coaching AND execution were bad. I said a TOTAL TEAM failure. I don’t blame one or the other like you.

Now you are blaming O for Thomas.

Who should I blame for not bringing an extra DL when we were supposedly so short handed???

Meaning players weren't ready to play yet. They weren't good enough, yet. But you jump on the bashing players angle when all that is meant is that we already had poor depth, our best players were missing, thus the players on the field were largely backups who at that particular time in their development...weren't ready. As one poster pointed out, the couple of older ones that did play were not drafted nor invited to combine. You do the math.

But, you would just rather blame O entirely. It fits for you.

What story?

He wasn’t there.

If we were so short handed, why not? I’m asking, not claiming to know.

All we keep hearing from you guys is no rotation, Lac played every snap.

Would another body not have helped? Even a true freshman that was only to give a guy a breather for a play or two?

It had nothing to do with missing any players

is this a joke? yea, our D got outplayed but without a DL worth a damn and no depth we didn't have a chance to stop their running game.

also, did you see what MSU did to Bama later in the year? bama had a D line but at home State has been damn good and they outplayed bama everywhere but blew the game at the end. reminded me of Miles propensity to go into a shell when leading bama late in the fourth.

I love excuses for 30 pt beatings and loses vs sunbelt teams

frick you and your "no excuses" mantra. you obviously don't know shite about football and your bias trumps reality. maybe you should read the posts about WHO on the DL was missing. that isn't a damn excuse; that a REASON. there is a difference to any objective person.

you should change your name. you and justice should not be mentioned together. you should change it to "kangaroo court" or "biased to the max" or just "dishonest"

Losing to MSU sucks

Losing to Troy is unacceptable.

Especially how badly the offense played and all the bulls hit going on leading up to that game

Didn't Eaux basically say they didn't respect Miss state and it showed on the field. If the team doesn't respect the opponent, that's on the head coach.

“ shite happens”

shite happens can be used to explain away a three point loss or a seven point loss or a 10 point loss, but it doesn’t begin to explain away a 30 point loss to a good, but not great team.

I admited that injuries/depth can be used to explain away some of what went on in those games, but coaching decisions also played a significant role in those two embarrassing games.

Look, those first five games last year were probably as bad a five game period as I’ve seen LSU play in 17 years and a good portion of the responsibility for what went on doing that period has to fall on the shoulders of the staff. Do they get credit for making a nice recovery? Of course.

I don’t hate coach O and I never want LSU to lose any games, but I am very concerned by what I saw last season on and off the field. Maybe it was just a shakedown year for this coach. We will soon see, but but expressing concerns/criticisms is what this form is all about. It was done when Nick was the coach, it was done when Les was the coach, its being done now, and it will be done under the coach who comes next. Coach O is a big boy. I’m sure he can handle the criticism. I just don’t know why some of the fans can’t.

The debate is whether injuries matter. You agree they do. We agree. Loonytic and justice say injuries do not impact a game.

Herron wasn’t either. So that shouldn’t have been a big deal right?

Rashard was the only true stud that was out.

Gilmore and Lac were better than Herron so not sure why you keep touting that “our best players were out”.

But, you would just rather blame O entirely.

I swear it’s like you can’t actually read, or just refuse to. This was my post:

quote:

The issue was the defense not getting stops on 3rd down in the second quarter, before the ejections, when and the offense not converting thirds as well.

They fed into each other for sure but it was a complete fail in coaching and execution on both sides of the ball, and it was apparent on the third drive of the game.

But yeah, “it fits for you”, whatever idiocy that means.

When we blow out MSU this year, this question will be answered and the debate will stop.

Would you take a 9-3 season with losses to Miami, tech, and Arkansas?
