I remember when you said Anthony Eyanson wasn't going to be a quality starter early in the season.

How about you ......STFU and let the season play out. Lol

He was just a little juiced up being opening day and all. He will be fine if he just keeps the ball down and settles down some

He didn't really look exceptionally sharp throughout the day, but he had a particularly bad inning that included a bit of bad luck and baseball happened to him (aka 4 runs). Evans was nails last year in relief, though I have to say I'm not sold on him being a starter, let alone Friday guy, at least not yet. Jay does seem to think he's ready for it and he sure knows a hell of a lot more than me, so I'm good with it for now. While his performance today doesn't instill any additional confidence in me, I'm not going to freak out about it. It's not like he was abysmal or anything, he just wasn't as sharp as he was most of last year. I hope it works out because if he can contently stretch out the type of outings he generally had last year he's gonna be a really good one.

Go back and watch highlights from frisco last year. It didn't look great for Kade Anderson when he got pulled against K-State. It didn't look great for Eyanson early against Nebraska. It didn't look great for Shores many times last year...it's the first game.

Give it a few outings. He's adjusting to being a starter. He'll be fine. If not, next man up, and he'll go back to being a dominant bullpen arm that now has 4 pitches (he added the 81mph curve against UCLA, what a time to add it lol).

I think he’d benefit from pitching out of the stretch all the time…kinda like Hurd did. I’m not an expert or anything…but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.

What makes y’all think he’s a bonafide Friday starter? I just don’t see it and I never saw it last year.

Amazing how some of y’all seemed like you’ve never watched Jay Johnson coached players/teams before, lol. Absolutely dumb takes. Go back and watch the last few years.

He had to pitch up. That umpire wasn’t calling any strikes low in the zone

the fourth inning after Casan went three perfect innings. What went wrong today?

The 4th inning started HBP, weak ground ball hit, bunt single. Then the next dude was a lefty who hit a lob wedge over 3rd for a 2 run double. Then a grounder got another run in. It wasn't like they were hitting him all over the ballpark.

He didn't pirch great, but wasn't awful either. He will be ok.

You should take a lesson from the fricking idiot who said Eyanson wasn’t an SEC-level starter early last season and settle down. It’s one game. He had the same issue in a few games last year, even a couple where he ended up pulling it together and dominating.

I will never forget it. Some dumbass came on here early in the season and said something like "I sat down close to the plate tonight and watched Eyanson. His stuff isn't very good and he will get crushed in SEC games". I wish I had bookmarked it

Maybe this:

No. 14 – 2026 Perfect Game Top 100 Sophomores
2025 Second-Team All-American (NCBWA)
2025 Third-Team All-American (D1 Baseball)
2025 First-Team Freshman All-American (D1 Baseball, Baseball America, Perfect Game, NCBWA)
2025 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Finalist
2025 Second-Team ABCA All-South Region
2025 Freshman All-SEC

And his first start vs Tennessee at the Box. And his appearance vs UALR that saved our season.

I’m sure I could keep going. It’s amazing how fricking casual some of you are. The ones like you who lean into it are really something.
