WTF!? WRONG!

Mike VI was donated to LSU by Great Cats of Indiana, a nonprofit sanctuary and rescue facility for big cats and other large carnivores, located in Idaville, Ind. He was moved into his home, north of Tiger Stadium on August 25, 2007, and was introduced to the LSU community as Mike VI on September 1, 2007. His arrival was officially recognized at a ceremony held on September 14, 2007. He debuted in Tiger Stadium on the evening of the Florida vs. LSU football game on Saturday, October 6, 2007.

Then someone hasn't seen Mike walk around his cage...he's definitely packing, if you get my drift.

How to Tell a Female & Male Tiger Apart

Look at the front paws. Male tigers have front paws relatively larger in comparison to their bodies than females.

The natatorium was built as part of the US Olympic Festival that Baton Rouge hosted back in the 1980s.

LSU is not going to lay out that much cash for a sport that brings in exactly ZERO revenue.

The new Tiger Park and Soccer Stadium both say "Hi!"....

Seriously, LSU has shown it's willing to spend the money to compete with anyone in terms of facilities. I believe it's just a matter of time before the natatorium is one of the best anywhere.

Start a QB that will be drafted in the first 3 rounds each year.

As bad as the natatorium is, I think the tennis stadium was worse. Now that that's being rectified, the natatorium needs to be leveled. I've been to Auburn's swimming facilities and they are top notch. LSU needs to build something similar if we expect to compete, which we have not been doing. With the addition of the practice facilities to the PMAC, I just don't see a new facility in the works for a long time to come. They could use the current natatorium area, tennis court area and what used to be the softball stadium to create a new swim complex. Also in the needs area should be a replacement for men's tennis coach. Haven't been very competitive for quite a while now. Women's tennis is not doing great either but the coach was hired not long ago and needs a few years to prove or disprove or herself. She was a top player at Florida.

I prefer Mizzou's which is why I linked them in my OP. I really hope LSU doesn't go the band-aid approach, and just remodels the natatorium. They really need to start fresh, and maybe follow Mizzou's lead, and make it part of the new UREC.

A new natatorium. Our current one is outdated and an embarrassment to the university. It's not even air-conditioned.

True, but the problem is that there just isn't anything close to enough money to support the investment. A school could do well by having a natatorium open for masters swimming and coincidentally have college meets maybe, but the focus should not be on college swimming, the money just isn't close to being there with the exception of a handful of programs and LSU isn't one of them.

Again, as I posted before, LSU has shown that it will spend whatever it takes to compete facility-wise. The new Tiger Park and Soccer Stadium are proof of that.

We will have either a renovation or a replacement. It's just a question of when, not if.

Honestly I think the natatorium should be last on the list as far as prioritizing, because it's just a sport like cross country where LSU likely isn't going to be elite in. I'd rather that money be spent on making Alex box equivalent to Baum, putting in suites at the pmac, new grandstand for Bernie Moore, etc. let's play to our strengths and then look into working with a firm to build a nice natatorium

The PMAC is fine... if you're a 5'2 fan. The seating couldn't be intentionally designed to be more uncomfortable than it is now.
