I think he's learned that:

1. Nobody runs into the teeth of the Bama defense. Let's be honest. We'll have to find another way.

2. Special teams will be critical in this game. Field goals, downing punts inside 10, etc.

3. We need to take long developing pass plays out of the playbook. Etling panics and their dline is good. We have alot of freshman on oline...

4. Guice and Williams need to be on the field together. Even if Guice is used as a decoy. We're better when they're both out there.

5. We can't expect any help from the officials.

Ok, maybe that last one is just me still bitter about no call holding on td run last year...or PP7 clear as day int...among others.

That LSU will not beat them as long as Nick is coach!

What do you think Coach O can differently this time around in terms of prep, scheming, film study, workouts etc. to have some sort of a chance against Bama?

I'll say one thing that I would like to see tried, it would be a lesson going back to 2011... the 9-6 game actually...

straight ahead running, hit holes fast, quit pulling OL because Bama has used them against us by causing them to clog up holes causing RB to move sideways and their LBs just clean up.

I'd much rather falling forward 4yd gains than 2 yd losses.

We shouldn't need 'holes', if we can't make yardage from 'creases' quit trying for second level 15 yd gains.

Make their LBs fill holes instead of being able to pick and choose where to clean up at.

that we need a great quarterback to beat them with some big receivers. An O line that will protect the qb as well.

That he needs to recruit elite OL/DL and QB players.

He should have learned that you need a freaking dual threat running a spread offense to beat them. We aren't beating Bama, because we have nothing required to beat Bama.

No passing game
No dual threat QB, (this has been a requirement since 2010)
Not even a decent blocking unit
No spread scheme (we have actual misdirection plays now, but we aren't running a spread)
Mediocre rush defense (seriously they have the most loaded rushing unit in the country)

LSU doesn't really have a chance at all. We'll be lucky to stay within 2...touchdowns.

He learned that he was naive to think he has a chance.

dual-threat only if he is a pass-first excellent passer, with some escapability(see Shea Patterson). These run-first "dual threat" guys (see Brandon Harris) are actually "no-threat".

That Jamal Adams, Tre White, Duke Riley, and Kendall Beckwith are good at football.

The big difference last year was that our OL couldn't block their DL. I am afraid the disparity may be greater this year.
