Sorry if this has been discussed. What do y'all think about moving Pocic to left tackle? Clapp or Dodd could play center and we take Malone out. Can't Pocic play all positions?

Pocic is very good at calling out assignments. I think they only trust him to do so.

I think it just depends. If the line improves every game then they should leave it alone. If they continue to struggle they may have to switch it up.

I love the thought of it, and I think we would have a much better line because of it... However it will never happen so its really not even worth the time to discuss it.

Our biggest issue with the OL is confusing the assignments by continually allowing our opponents to stack the box. It is so freaking ignorant.

With the number of missed assignments in the Wiscy game, this is a frightening thought.

ETA: I agree with you that he appears to be the only one they trust. Just saying they missed way too many in that game. If the other guys can't do better than that they shouldn't be anywhere near the center position.

It's not happening now. It's to late to try and like it's been said already they already seem to be playing confused can you imagine. Sad part it was Pocic and Clapp the two guys that suppose to be our leaders missing assignments

Les has been swapping lineman around all year, then wonders why they have trouble adjusting to new roles.

It's too late but it should have been

LT- Pocic
LG- Maea
C-Clapp
RG- Boutte
RT- Weathersby or Malone

Boutte is terrible. There is a reason he lost his spot to a freshman last year. He was terrible against MSU last season.

Malone gets beat more than an Alabama housewife.
Hopefully the line play will improve - it is a HUGE key to success.

While this may be true, sadly, I don't think he's been the worst one...looking at you Clapp

That is a huge indicator to me that we have poor coaching. They won't take the time to make sure a true center learns the calls so they play a player out of position. Who the hell has a 6'7" center?

Malone is the weak link. I know it sounds absurd but he is undersized for and SEC lineman. He's listed at 301 and he doesn't really look it. LSU has repeatedly lost out on getting the top tackles in the recent years. I would like to see what Okeke are whatever his name is can do. He surely could do as good as Malone.

Poccic has been awesome at center, and is in-line to be the best center coming out this year for the NFL.

And will be moved to Left Tackle. I agree he should stay at center here, but it is an absolute failure from Miles not to be able to recruit better at the line position. Instead recruiting a variety of line positions they have recruited for the most part maulers that are all really guards and tried to turn them into tackles. If fits his archaic run first offense he is stubbornly holding onto.

Thanks coach.

So, can you elaborate on your past oline coaching experience.....or playing experience?

(seriously, if you have some I'd like to see it)

And, I'd like to hear your first hand practice observations of LSU's oline group, considering that is essential in developing a lineup.

Weathersby honestly seems to be the weakspot on the OL thus far. Malone had a bad 1st game but improved a lot against JSU. Could always argue it's just JSU, but Weathersby played poorly again anyways.

Weathersby was having issues. No doubt.
