They are like a cult. I live about an hour south of SA and it's Aggie land down here. I actually went to the Mays Business school over the summer a few years back for training through work and literally the first thing that was talked about is how they don't just say hi like normal people, you have to say HOWDY!

I’m not an Aggie, but what I think of it is this: it’s a great, unique tradition of the type that makes college football, and college life, fun. It’s wholesome, in a 1950’s sort of way, and for some reason, it attracts the ire (probably jealousy) of the kind of people who should like it.

It is very 1950’s. The mentality of the cult will never allow them to be successful. Treat every victory like it’s the super bowl. You have to get to a place that you expect to win games. The downgrading of opponents instead of respecting the competition.

It’s so fricking lame, and really cringey.
However, it’s one saving grace, it goes way back. If I was an Aggie I’d probably defend it just because it’s tradition, and there’s something cool/special about keeping things going over several generations.

The funny thing is Boone and Blowing Rock NC are amazing towns. Boone has 3 ski resorts near campus, multiple breweries, great hiking and a cool vibe being just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I always love it when people live in a shite town and try to make fun of something, when they obviously have no clue. The vocal are usually the ignorant.

I would think this kind of performance art would be like TV or whatever. You perform, tape it, and break down your performance afterward for improvement.
