Clark is really good, I am sure she did some trash talking, I don’t know why everyone is bitching about it. Clark can obviously dish it out and also take it.
I don’t think they really disrespected LSU but they had to feel after beating USC the title was theirs. I am sure Mulkey helped manufacture the disrespect stuff and guess what, it freaking worked.

bro it’s the same thing we heard from georgia after they won the natty….they swore they was being disrespected all season etc. It’s a coach during their job

I’m really curious cause I keep hearing about it…is there really evidence of Clark talking trash? Or is it just the one hand gesture?
In the Elite 8, the same girl she waved her hand in front of her face at, there is a video of Clark telling her “you’re down by 15. Just shut up.” Apparently the two girls knew and played together before and there was some bad blood.
I think the other element not mentioned is the impact of Dawn Staley’s comments in regards to Iowa’s coaches comments about playing South Carolina was like being in a bar fight. There was an insinuation that race impacted the way the teams were characterized. I think all of it was overblown but was used for motivation.

Caitlin Clark looked like a stuck up count all tournament. Bitching about calls. Acting like she’s too good or too cool to play with everyone. Just seems like a horrible bitch to share a court with. Poor sport.
You gonna be ok my guy?
She's a competitor bottom line. Nearly all great competitor's have that confidence and aire about them. It's what fuels them. It would be different if she couldn't back it up with her play but she can and did. AP Player of the Year.

How in the hell are these girls going to get along when she transfers to LSU?

Id like to know what she did or said to Alexis.
I’m not 100% sure, but I think it goes back to press conferences leading up to the game. Alexis said she would feel disrespected if Iowa defended LSU the way they did USCe. Clark made the comment that they wouldn’t defend LSU the same way. Felt targeted at Alexis in the moment and full of shear cockiness. That’d be my guess.

I don't think Clark or Iowa did anything per se, I think the players just bought into Mulkey's motivational speeches.
Disrespect was a big issue going into the tournament- this was a 2-loss team; one on the road at the consensus #1, and the other in the SEC tourney where there's plenty of argument to "get out early" and rest. It should have been a 1 seed, or at worst the highest 2.
I think Mulkey feels that the team needs a focus to make a big run, so she locked in on that snub.
Now, I also think the Final Four motivation was going to be revenge/redemption against South Carolina, but that was lost when Iowa beat them. So disrespect became the theme again; Clark talking trash, and Iowa thinking they won the title against South Carolina, with LSU being "easier". Tigers came out and beating them was no mere formality.
Did some of the girls take it a little much, maybe. But this was an athletic competition and not a talent show; you don't win when you're sitting around in awe of your opponent. And maybe, to risk a stereotype, the girls were a little more emotional than the guys.
At the end of the day, I think Reese's stuff was simply "you didn't get us, WE got YOU", and it wasn't a sign of disrespect to Clark. Instead, it was a sign of respect- she was the one that could beat them.
