Back to the basics!

So, there it is. We are wearing the purple jerseys.

The only variable is whether we wear white helmets/ pants or gold. I prefer the white because it looks better in the daytime, and it doesn't carry the curse factor that gold/purple/gold has ever since the LSU/Florida game in 1965.

Probably whites because the purple tops would be hotter

The thing is if we were wearing our traditional home uniform no one would be the least concerned about the outcome of the game.

Truth be told, I've watched almost every LSU football game since Oct. 5, 1963 when the Tigers beat Georgia Tech 7-6. LSU for that 56 year period just plays with more confidence in their traditional unis. The Curse of the Purple dates to Oct. 2, 1965 when LSU had to wear purple at Florida on a scorching hot afternoon. The Tigers withered in the heat, and the Gators tried out a brand new product that afternoon, developed by UF chemists called "Gatorade" and prevailed. Then 3 years later LSU wore purple at Miami and were blown out, 30-0.

Purple shirts aren't good for this team. If we have to wear them, make it the more innocuous white/purple/white combo, please

We always wear white in our home opener. Then we typically wear gold purple gold for other non conference home games.

We need purple jerseys with gold and gold
