What can Blake Baker learn from Miami’s defense?

Hopefully Blake is taking notes. Miami went to Kyle Field and completely shut down the ATM offense with its running QB.

What did Miami do that we need to incorporate into our gameplans?

Having players who haven’t quit helps to start with. After that ill defer to tactical folks on the board

Don’t have your best linebacker break his leg

It’s called better players and both teams had them.

The Baker apologists are ridiculous. Everyone’s fault but his.

Get defensive players as good as Miami’s.

Keionte Scott who plays the Nickel/Star position for Miami did a great job of corralling Reed and making Tackles unlike a certain “STAR” wearing #7

They have faster LB’s. HP is fast enough but isn’t disciplined to play his assignments.

Remember 3rd and Chavis.....well against Johnny football, we always played him perfectly...keep him in the pocket...don't blitz, contain, and make him beat you with his arm. Hell, Johnny could throw much better than Reed. Baker needs to dial down the blitzing against running qbs, and our defense needs to maintain their assignments. Give but don't break....Seriously, Reed is a worse passer than MVB

Better players and stronger at point of attack. And we have to be more physical. But it will also help if we have an offense that can put pressure on their defense so our defense isn’t just waiting for the next 3 and out.

Find a dominate DL that controls the LOS so you don’t have to blitz every freaking play

So they quit on Reed last year as well as '25? And vs Milroe in '24. And Pavia? And Chambliss?

Baker really needs to reassess some things schematically.

That wasn’t going to help. Whit played last year against running qb. Sc, Texas am, an bama qbs ran all over lsu with whit weeks playing.

Kevin Steele was the DC in '15 when we played TTech.

FTR, I think Chief was ahead of most DCs in scheming against spreads, RPOs, zone reads, etc but sometimes, e.g., Cam, you're just playing against a great player.

I'm not so sure their guy is a better player than our #7. Different game plan, preparation and coaching will yield different results. We don't know anything about what our #7 was coached and told to do, but I do believe he is just as talented.
