I disagree. If LSU beats Bama, Bama will drop 2 spots. Clemson to 1 and LSU to 2. Bama at 3 and ND or Michigan drops to 5. That's what I see. It would be fun to get the opportunity to see what does happen with the rankings. I am Leary.

You mean like in 2011? Bama is getting in with only one loss. I can assure you.

2011 Bama beat 4 ranked teams, including #1 LSU, then still needed Okie State to blow it the final week. The situations are not comparable.

I cannot see any scenario where a one loss Bama does not get in versus a no loss Michigan or Notre Dame. The head of the commite even said on ESPN when asked, that he could see a scenario where a two loss team could get in.

2011 and last year showed Bama doesn’t have to win the SEC and still gets a chance to win..... no other team could’ve done this

You are right they don’t have to win the SEC, but that doesn’t mean they get in regardless. If Wisconsin had beaten Ohio St in the B1G CG last Wisconsin would have been in and Alabama out. So while it is still possible for them to get in the playoffs if they loss to LSU and don’t win the SEC, there are also scenarios where they would be kept out.

they got in via the backdoor

If this happens again, there needs to be a wholesale revamp of the CFP selection process. No other school would get the same preferential treatment.

It was bad enough that they didn't win the SEC either year, but what's worse is that they failed to even win their division.

If LSU can beat them with Bama refs, I'm confident they'd also beat them in the playoffs with neutral refs.

Clemson & ND should both be undefeated

Winner of Big 10 & SEC will be in (especially if it's UM)

Bama would be out

Well we don’t know that yet, you obviously are warped by Bama paranoia but last year (and 2016) the scenario was only 3 P5 champs had 1 loss. In 4 years the committee has not put a team that didn’t win its conference over a team that did with the same record

Guys, you’re overthinking this. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the boat race.

They may have backdoored in years past but the scenario now is so much different for them. If they lose to LSU, they literally have zero wins that are worth a damn, they actually need us this year to boost their resume... If they lose there is no argument for them getting in at all, bottom line.

..oh REALLY?..Well, bama didn't play in their conference championship game, played one game less than the other teams did in the playoffs and yes, won the National Championship...they jumped ship over a few other teams with the same record to even b in the playoffs..a little biased I'd say?...and personally I could give one flying frick about Bama..I just know they rule with little Nicky aboard and will always b a contender until he retires or dies...

I think the only difference this year then maybe in the past is that bama will not have a single top 25 win. The only one you could argue would be A&M.

Agree, Bama will not get in I dont see Notre Dame or Clemson losing a game... Those two are in... The SEC champion will definately get in... thats 3... Then pick between Michigan/Texas OU winner/Bama... Bama aint winning that battle... not this year...

If that had been LSU who lost in their home stadium, they would definitely have fallen more than one spot. You are forgetting all the Bama love they were getting. All things being equal, they (Bama) should have dropped more than one spot after being favored and losing at home.

Bama will only drop to 5 or 6

and that would be appropriate considering they lost on the road to the 4th best...but new #1` team

quote:

when we lost to UF at #5 and dropped to #13

was also appropriate...then we beat #2 and jumped right back to #5

quote:

we lose or Bama by a close score, possibly well under the spread.... LSU drops out of the top 10

we would be the highest ranked 2 loss team
