Has a lot to learn. Could be a first rounder if he comes back for his senior year.

Who also played way way way less football in college than Dupre already has.

Bottom line if the NFL Draft were held today Dupre would be drafted exponentially higher than Wright was.

I think Dupre is a solid early 3rd rounder today.....by the end of the season he could get into the 1st round with good performances against good teams.

Who knows why a team selects a certain WR. Kelvin Benjamin was notorious for drops at FSU and he got picked in the first round. And, when it comes to measurables, Dupre is far superior to him.

Benjamin in 6'5" 245
Dupre is 6'4" 195
Have you seen Benjamin this year in the NFL? He looks like a beast catching balls over the middle getting hit by safeties.
For all the drops Benjamin had, he still had 15TD's his senior year, and over 1000 yards.

Has there been anything you've seen from Dupre during his time at LSU to suggest he should be playing on Sundays? I'm not trying to bash the kid, b/c I know he has the potential to be a very good WR, but he's just not showing anything to prove that, and I don't know why.

In terms of speed and agility, Dupre is far superior to Benjamin. It is not really debatable, I don't think. Benjamin has size and that's about it, and he still drops balls like a mofrackey.

As of today he should come back for senior season and not enter draft.

You sure about this bc I think there's a guy catching balls on Sundays for the Bengals that would disagree.

Where did I say Dupre wouldn't get drafted?

There isnt an NFL team out there that would risk a 1st or 2nd round pick on a WR whose drops on the season rivals his catches, regardless of his physical attributes.

Hoops, this is my point...

What NFL team is going to risk a top 60 pick on what he's shown so far? Will Dupre declare if he's given a round 3-5 grade?

i know that you may think that they do but, scouts don't give a shite about stats.

They do care about drops, playing small, not having strong hands, and losing focus, though. Malachi needs to spend the rest of his season working on putting positives in those areas on film.

Right now, if you could draft Chi or Chark, who would you take?

Benjamin also had 1k yards and 15 TDs. No stats are not the end all be all but you can't just lay a complete egg and expect to be a 1-2 round pick. Terrance Tolliver had great measurables too, but production absolutely matters. Dupre is going to have to pick it up big time if he intends on leaving after this year and being a high draft pick.

At this point, he'd be lucky to be signed as an undrafted free-agent. Needs to pick his game up big time.
6'4" WR with huge hands and 4.5 speed. I think he is looking at around the 3rd round right now. The offense Ensminger will be running should help him a little bit. Could move his stock up to 2nd round with a strong finish.

He doesnt have that 1st round/early 2nd round dominant game style to him. Would benefit him to come back in my opinion.

He's not proven he can handle tough physical man to man coverage, and guess what he'll get a steady dose of in the Pros? Duh.

He needs to play the rest of the season like he's about to lose his job and see what happens. There's a lot of football left to show something. The drops have been terrible this year. Brandon LaFell like, and we know how that turned out. Guys can improve.

He also was on the number one passing offense in college football. He got thrown to A LOT. By the Heisman Trophy winner, no less.

My point is that, although Dupre has NOT looked good, there is still a lot of time to impress scouts.

I think he has to put up some numbers at some point in this season to get taken somewhere in the first two rounds. They definitely draft on potential, but a few catches per game and 0 TDs won't do it for the NFL guys to pull the trigger in the first two rounds.

He needs to get a lot tougher and stronger. He is way to soft to play at that level

He wasnt' the leading receiver on the team. He had 54 receptions (15 were tds). One other player had 54 as well, and another had 76.

Dupre had 43 receptions last year.
54 and 43 aren't that big of a difference.

What he does have going for him are his measurables and the fact that this years draft class isn't loaded per say in comparison to years past. If he gets a 3rd round grade does he jump or come back with a potential returning starter (Etling) and new coach (O or new hire) with the promise of opening up the offense and centering it around he and Guice?

Alot of young talent in the NFL too. Just bc the draft isnt loaded doesnt mean he'll have a good shot of having a good draft. He should return as others have stated.

Undraftable until he shows consistent hands. Fact is he is still dropping easy passes (did it again this last weekend).

There's a middle ground between "undraftable" and 1st-2nd round. He would absolutely be drafted next year if he never played another college game.

Definitely needs to gain about 15 pounds though.
