We're thinking we are in a lose lose situation now. We either beat an LSU team playing with their back ups or we lost to an LSU team playing with their back ups. If Oregon won by 60 it might get some good pub, otherwise see above.

Probably mystified that a large portion of an opponent's fan base is practically celebrating the arrest of two players--including their starting QB.

Sort of like LSU last season opener against UNC. It's really a no win for Oregon.

Damn, their qb that can throw is actually going to get some playing time.

We're replacing a senior QB with a senior QB and we lose one starting wide receiver.

It's not exactly like we're North Carolina last year.

Before, LSU was going to win with defense and the running game, now LSU is going to win with defense and the running game.

This is Jarret's oppurtunity now. He has a chance to be very good now that he can actually get into a rhythm and not get pulled out.

Lee has been the starting QB before...it's not like a fr. Or soph. that has never started a game before...

Oregon should be thinking, "WE'RE IN TROUBLE NOW!!!" LSU actually has a quarterback and Shepherd never gets the ball anyway, so Beckham and company should light us up. Lee running the option does not scare Oregon, but when Lee comes out holding his shoulder (Andrew Hatch) after he gets hit by a LB, then METT comes in throwing the ball like Bert Jones putting dents in Tiger receiver's shoulder pads. The Tigers have Oregon RIGHT WHERE WE WANT 'EM!!!!!!!!

As an Oregon fan I hate to see this. That being said if we do win then people will say..well LSU didn't have their starting QB. I'd be proud to beat LSU with any players. LSU is damn good.

I don't know of any Oregon fan that is celebrating the arrest of those 2 kids and the suspension of your best reciever. Most Oregon fans want your team at full strength with your best and our best. We have more to lose here than you guys do. We are a young up and coming program that has been hyped up. So we get a chance to prove ourselves in a week and everyone is excited about this. Just sucks that we all pay all that money to see the best game to start the year with the players we wanted to watch play against each other.

...and these would be the same idiots who said when the preseason rankings came out, "LSU is overrated because Jordan Jefferson sucks!"

Y'all, it's not exactly like the Saints losing Drew Brees.

We're thinking 'is it September 3rd yet?'
That's about it...

Don't forget Oregon also has players suspended for the game, our starting MLB Kiko Alonso and our superstar CB and punt returner (basically the west coast version of Patrick Peterson) Cliff Harris.

So LSU has lost a great WR and a senior QB, Oregon has lost two of its key defensive players and top punt returner. Oregon hasn't exactly been controversy free this offseason.

Anything beyond general excitement for the game is wrong at this point in time, I already wrote about this earlier this week on Fishduck, and I have already reprimanded several Oregon fans that callously celebrated the Jefferson/Shepard news. There is nothing to celebrate here, it's sad that neither team will be at full strength.

By the way, part 3 of our ongoing LSU preview is up today on fishduck:
