At this point, dignity.

Look, I'm happy for the time the guy has spent here, but my God has a player ever checked out as much as he has in the past year? Takes off spring, summer, fall practice, comes back 3 games into the season and looks terrible, put on a boatload of bad weight. Finally starts to look like his old self midway through our schedule, then doesn't play in the last 2 games this year because of a finger/hand injury?...and now, even though he may be plenty healthy enough to play in the bowl game, might skip that too.

If I'm an NFL franchise I'm not spending a 1st round pick on him, way too much of a risk.

Edit - and if I'm Coach O I'm saying you could certainly stand to gain a lot to come back and give 100% effort for a full year to move your way back up to being a Top 10/15 type pick in the draft.

That's the spirit. Players are soon going to have 1 good season in college football and then shut it down for the rest of their time until they're drafted, and it's fans like this that will give them a pass.

And here's the problem. Unfortunately, it seems Key has the same mentality as you. You play for personal pride, you play for your team and you play because LSU gave you a free ficking ride through college to play!

I realize it's risk/reward but ND's left tackle is a projected 1st rounder. If Key were to blow him up in the bowl game that could improve his stock. He could also get stonewalled or injured so I understand his dilemma...

Key checking out on his teammates sure makes you appreciate Guice, who gives it all, hurt or not.
Orgeron has been less than transparent about this, as well...

LOL fans have no say in who plays and its the coach that give them a pass.

Can't argue with any of this, other than to say everyone has different motivations. Not everyone has the same fire for the game that we like to see as fans. Some play football because they're really, really good at it and can earn a living from it eventually.

I know we think they should all play for the love of the game but I don't think that's reality. I know it's cliché at this point but this is a business too.

He basically played one game at all out Arden key this year....and it was Alabama.

Dude was straight up playing for the draft and went witb the injured route the rest of the way.

that dude checked out after his sophomore year.

i love key, but this is why great athletes are double edged swords

I'll never knock him on his efforts, he chose the Tigahs and stayed with them. Just wish he would have been more dominant this year
