Heaven help us if he's the one in charge of finding a football coach when Miles retires.
Why do you say this? I've heard people say things like this numerous times, and honestly it makes you sound like a fricking idiot.

1. Made it as difficult as possible to tailgate for football games.
2. Has run off the worthless LSU fans who tailgate and don't go to the game.
3. Got rid of the trash that tailgates along Nicholson.
4. Moving the best out of conference games to NFL stadiums.

Because most of his hires so far have been average at best.

I think that he has improved the facilities. Better facilities improve recruiting classes. Better recruiting classes improve teams. Better teams make more money for the program. More money for the program builds better facilities. Better facilities improve recruiting classes. Better recruiting classes improve teams.
Oh.....
except at the University of Texas.

2. Johnny Jones
3. Other Sports Facilities Upgrade (Tennis, Track & Field,.....)
4. Sold out LSU to the networks.
5. No backbone.

He seems to listen to the fans really well.
Painting the pipe
lighting up the tabasco sign
pushing TS over 100K
letting the band play the good ol' traditional songs
less ads
less piped in music
facility upgrades
killing toonces
I'm sure there's more I'm leaving out.
Good summation. The thing is, if he follows through on his promise to renovate the concourses in TS and add more restrooms, he will be remembered more for that IMO than anything he's done up to this point, including expanding TS.

Squeezing another $35 season ticket price increase, on the verge of bringing in MILLIONS of + $ off the new SEC TV contract...while at the SAME time shafting ticket holders into another multi-million $ neutral site sell-out, leaving fans with one of the WORST home schedules EVER !
Great job Joe.....NOT !

3 dislikes, and no one to back it up
probably the losers who can't pay $40 parking to watch a top 5 college football program play at home. that damn alleva and market demand!
LSU is in for a very nice year in athletics. can't wait for the crow to be served up

quote:. Tom Jurich???. He's no Jeremy Foley but solid I agree..
that's like saying "at least we haven't had a player-coach scissoring session like Pokey Chatman had" some of you are so pathetic He's maintained a good athletic program, made some excellent facility upgrades, and he's made a couple of nice hires. He's no Tom Jurich, but he's pretty damn solid

What tickfaw said. And I continue to wonder if a stronger AD would continue to take it up the backside from Slive and the Gumps with the scheduling shaft. Oh yeah, we've got to preserve the storied rivalry between Bama and the Orange, so LSU HAS to play UF every year.
I think he's been pretty mediocre at best. This year's joke of a home football schedule with accompanying ticket price increase was the final straw for me.

Well, he's just one of 14 ADs. 4 are automatically in favor of keeping the permanent cross opponents. And I'm sure 8 don't care enough to change it. Florida has been public about not changing. So I don't think a different AD would have any better support than Alleva.
I think a better question than asking his biggest achievements would be, what hasn't he achieved that he realistically could, and needs to.

In due time, 10 years from now after he is retired for a few years, we will look back and realize he did a wonderful job as our AD. He has prioritized and executed the right improvements.

If this season is typical going forward, he negotiated into the lucrative TV deal Tiger Stadium night games. That's a big deal, IMHO.

I wish people would stop saying stupid shite and read this paragraph right here before blaming Alleva for the permanent cross-division rival fiasco.
