First down, 3 receiver tight bunch left, RB next to Brennan. Have TM as the outside receiver in the bunch and Gilbert inside. Middle is irrelevant. Play action to TDP, TM runs the slant , middle receiver fake blocks down and Gilbert fake blocks down, then to the flag. It’s an easy TD if you run it in first down. Second down —-JE Speed option out of pistol with reverse type action (MB reverses out and JE jab steps one way and runs option to the other). It’s a TD in second down. 3rd—-five wides with MB under center. Sneak it. It’s a TD. 4th Run shot gun with 3 bunch left , one RB and Gilbert at TE opposite the bunch. Roll away from the bunch with all three dragging at various depths. Gilbert runs across the formation toward opposite flag. Throwback to Gilbert and it’s a touchdown. It’s that fricking simple.

Quarterback sneak with TJ Finley

I would've had a big body in at FB or H-back on 1st down with Emery running behind him to our best run blocking side. Emery has the ability to bounce it if the hole is stuffed.
Then, I run Emery to the outside with that same FB or H-back spread out to crack down on the end. RPO would also be a good play on 2nd down.
3rd and 4th have to be quick hitters inside, slants/rubs/etc.

I don't understand how we do not have a wildcat package, given that Brennan is so slow. it's like Ensminger just has given no thought at all to goal line offense, and his play selection there reinforces this notion.
And Gilbert should have been a target, as well.

Bootleg
Brennan no threat to run all game. They weren’t even respecting him after he handed off

boot leg, 1st down. Brennan isn't a threat to run, misdirection.

Play action pass over the top to Marshall or Gilbert, corner fade to Marshall who was completely dominating them, a run to the corner instead of the middle of the field or a misdirection pass would have all been good option IMO.

I’d have the qb go under center and hand off to Emery 4 times. We had the time on the clock

if it had to be passes? ok
5 wide spacing play which is 5 hitch routes. if nobody open with leverage tuck it and run straight in. burrow did this on same play against auburn last year.you could also do this with 4 wide and use a RB on a circle route. if LB's flare out the box and RB gets inside leverage you it him over middle for TD on the circle route with or without a delayed release.
a basic PA rollout to wide side with a hi-lo concept. wr crossing to deep pylon from short side. slot Wr coming across slightly after and a ittle under him then TE releases under all that in the flats. he would have 3 options. if that is not there throw back to RB on short side if not blocking.
a simple curl-flats concept to one side and crosses over middle. gives you man and zone beaters. make the reads and make the appropriate throw.
classic corner fade route to either gilbert or marshall. or run double fades and pick the favorable matchup in real time and chuck it up to the spot and let him go up and grab it.

Play 1 - Tight bunch (3wrs) to the left. 2 outside receivers quick slants, inside WR Post. Great 1-1 play. Ran it a lot last year...not sure I’ve seen it once.
Play 2 - Emery sprint to block #32 on outside and release for quick hit...could have run with same formation as play 2
Play 3 - slot right, fade to Marshall
Play 4 - slot right...run pick route
Optional play
Tight bunch formation - inside wr back of endzone abd sits, middle WR, post. Outside quick slant. Middle was open to lb blitzing and everyone manned

Running play with a fb and tackle as a tight end
Posted on 10/12/20 at 2:14 pm to tigers1956
It really doesn’t matter. 1st and goal from the 2 yard line we should be able to tell Mizzou what play we are running and still be able to convert.

A QB sneak....even the Missouri coach said he couldn't believe they didnt
Also F*ck going shotgun on 3rd/4th and 1 and goal line opportunities, ever.

considering that we couldn't push a mizzou defense back with the game on the line and they had so many DL out is disturbing. that said, we really missed Ed Ingram. Had #70 been healthy, i would run the ball right behind him. when we're on the one, and calling a run play, why is the QB in shotgun?

Wildcat with Trey Palmer. OL blocks to the inside. Trey outruns everyone to the pylon. TD!
I see nothing positive from Linehan. Nothing innovative on 3d downs or in the Red Zone. Surely, he has Joe Brady’s playbook? He needs to study film & mimic what Brady called in similar situations!
