i was at the game and when going over the fence i slipped and got trapped there for a while. had people stepping all over me. finally got loose but was hurting for a couple days afterwards. my dumbass roommate got his face split open that night from a night stick by the LSP.
great night. great memories. was the first time i rushed the field as a student.

I was a student worker in the athletic department and was on the sidelines for a lot of games from '98 - '01. I stood back against the fence as everyone rush the field and watched cigar smoke create a haze above the field. That was my last home game as a student. A few of my fellow senior workers and I went back out well after the game was over and drank a beer at midfield. That game rivals '97 Florida as my favorite game.

I cannot believe I am not the only one to remember that. That guy was jacked and had everybody ready. We all turned around and saw the cops had whipped out pepper spray and batons. Half the group chickened out (including me) and the other half got raped. Posted on 9/9/11 at 12:05 am to Zilla

Wasn't a student but was there on the field.
My cousin played on the team from 2001-2003. When we rushed the field it was chaos and people were everywhere going crazy. I was probably around the 15 when a group of players were trying to get through the crowd. All of sudden I see my cousin trying to get to the locker room. I call his name out and he sees me. Then he says "This is crazy....people are trying to steal my fricking helmet off my head."
We still talk about that to this day.

I was a student. I went on the field. Not much else to tell really.

I was a student. Extremely intoxicated. Stormed the field with the rest of my drunken idiot friends. The cops defended the goalpost like the Iron Curtain. One of my friends was a small guy, I guess he thought he could slip through. Instead, he got arm tackled by a lady cop and we laughed at him hysterically. That upset him and he tried to tried to push the copy off. After partying the rest of the night, we bailed him out early the next morning. Oh, and I still have the shirt for this game, although it has the wrong date since it was postponed. Brings a huge smile to my face every time I see it.

I don't post a lot, but this was a good story...
This was the 3-4th time that we had rushed the field in a short time, and the cops were getting pretty pissed about tearing down the goalposts (remember they greased them for the Bama game in '00). So, the cops made a giant ring around the goalposts. We rushed the field, and then there was like a braveheart battle line 10 yds apart between cops and students.
I pledged with 2 identical twins, and we were in our ties and whatnot. One of them steps between the lines, tries to rally a charge, and gets the shite beaten out of him by security. They throw him out. Then, they spot his twin in the exact same clothes on the other side of the stadium, think it's him, then rush over and beat the shite out of him too. Twin #2 didn't find out till the next day why he got his arse handed to him!
Personally, i remember washing down the flavor of mace with a cuban and a shitload of whiskey.
