They don't want to pay for it...and they don't want other programs having an advantage over them. It's a rational position, even if you don't agree with it.

No one is forcing them to invest more money into the sport if they don’t want to. Or they could try to turn a profit from baseball. Either way they could stop being a little bitch and get out of the way so the sport can grow properly.

The additional situation is IF they allocate more scholarships and/or the 3rd paid coach you will likely see more programs give up baseball versus add to the current losses incurred. Very few college baseball programs make a profit!!
I’m for more scholarships AND the 3rd coach but you make some great points as to the barriers and impacts to the sport.

I know it’s been tough for Vandy to compete on 11.7 scholarships.. having to be married to the 11.7 like everyone else..

Or you can let the P5 have their own CWS. Let the smaller schools have there's.
