They don’t play the same position. Would be Penn that gets taken out. If Speights is fully healthy he’s a damn good linebacker

With the 2020 covid year this is not all that uncommon

Tyree Wilson went 1.7 last year as a 5th year player.

Will McDonald went 1.15 as a 5th year player and was a 3x all big 12

“5th year” has never been a red flag anyway. The nfl is not as much of an ageist league compared to say the nba and never has been

Maybe it was because he was injured, but he looked extremely disinterested in hustling to the ball. A lot of his tackles were downfield.

He has been injured all season. He wasn't healthy for fsu and he made it worse Grambling week.

I'd stick with the Penn/ Whit, but I got a feeling it'll be Speights/ Penn to start, with Whit subbing in at Will next to either one at Mike

I listened to BKs press conference yesterday and it sounded the exact opposite.

My impression was that Penn and Weeks would start and Speights would rotate in. BK even said he’s healthy but not ready for a full load.

I want a LB who is obviously playing his heart out for the State of Louisiana. I think we know who that guy is

Are the Weeks boys even from Louisiana

Speights has been disappointing to say the least. Hope he figures it out

He played well against FSU, and was clearly trying to play through an injury against Grambling. Him being injured is disappointing, but I'm not about to label him a bust with such a limited sample size.

That’s not what the poster you replied to implied.

He said he wants kids who play hard for the State of Louisiana.

Why would Weeks, who is from Georgia, play harder “for Louisiana” than Speights who is from Pensylvania?

And further, why does someone have to play “for Louisiana”?

It’s not like any of our LB’s are setting it on fire vs the run especially. Ranked 68th overall and 12th in the SEC vs the run with only Auburn and Vandy worse than LSU. Kiffen is going to test our ability to stop the run, but also obviously challenge our DB’s, especially the corners. Bottom line, all our LB’s including the Jack need to play better.

Because LSU is the flagship university of Louisiana? Don’t need to overthink things here.

I’m not overthinking. Just think it’s silly to want kids who want to “play for Louisiana” when they are not even from the state.

I couldn’t care less what their motivation is. Just work hard, play hard win.

As far as I’m concerned, a kid could hate the state as longs as he can play and plays hard

Clearly Speights does not play with the urgency and aggressiveness as Weeks. He just doesn't..

Not sure we can accurately say that if he was playing hurt the first 2 games.

Listening is the most important part of communication. Speights was playing “injured”.

Speights has a very nice physique. Weeks is a superior football player.

Agreed. Don't want Weeks to hit freshman wall, and our depth is thin. No use exposi g guys to extra hits
